I thought it would just be the usual popularXloner trope with cliché scenes but the story was more focused on how Hanaura starts to accept what he feels. The characterization was great, along with their lines. I could say that it has a psychological theme to it since you could see how the character development progressed not because of physical intimacy but with words, feelings, and realisations.
Also, one of the reasons why I like this is because, I'm seeing my friend's love story in this. The story's dialogues.. they're exactly how their convos went and will go. Some are even my pieces of advise. Hey author! This is too much of a coincidence. Or is it?

But I want more!!! I like the dynamic between the two and I like it when he calls himself trash, cause I agree.

The artwork is kinda good, nothing extraordinary, but it's OK.
The characters are forgettable, everyone is somewhat likeable, but noone stands out.
The story is basically nonexistent, it's just a SOL with a focus on how the uke starts liking the seme. No plot, no real conflicts, no drama, nothing exciting. Pretty meh. And the ending wasn't particularly satisfying too - at least for me.
Overall an OK read, to quickly fix your BL-cravings, but don't expect too much.

The 'Trash' Protagonist was half relatable. Like I kind of understand why he think of this and that. He's more interesting than expected. And the Popular Protagonist is Lovable than I expected. The Characters' Development with their Feelings, Action, and Relationship with each other is much more smoother than I fear. I'm glad! While it wasn't perfect, it was Really Really Good and Great manga! Lovely and makes me smile. I'm Loving it!

I kind of disagree with OmNom, yes it does seem like a quite plain and simple plot (uke is a self-loathing introvert, seme is bright and an extrovert, seme confesses to uke, uke doesn't believe in his feelings and has to overcome his own limitations before opening himself to Love).
It's like you pick up what you think is an ordinary object, and the more you examine it, the more you can see how thoughtfully and carefully it was crafted. And this is so well done.
The plot is simple and predictable but I think it's a great thing : it let's the author thoroughly explore the psychology of the characters instead of focusing on some cliché plot devices to advance the story like so many other bl or even shoujo (like the infamous rival that appears out of nowhere for example).
The character development is masterfully done even through small details so that you are perfectly able to follow how and why does the characters evolve. The pacing is near perfect : the events that lead to the finale are quite realistic and just flows together and there is enough time and space to let the characters grow so the uke doesn't need a big push to accept the seme's love (which in some mangas make it seems like the relationship is borderline forced and nonconsensual) just a series of small everyday events that each time triggers a bit of self reflection.
And in just five chapters there is so many reflections about what it means to be part of a relationship, part of a community, what it takes to be able to let yourself be loved etc etc..
So yeah for me this manga is a discrete little gem that has a simple plot but great well developed well thought off characters and I appreciate the author making is seem like them ending up together isn't the be-all end-all and that there is still a lot of things to be built and discovered for the relationship to last.

There are cute moments I like but ultimately this turned out to be less impactful and interesting than I had hoped for. The overwhelmingly positive ratings gassed me up for something that fell short in the end. I mean this manga is not terrible by any means, I just thought it was quite average and predictable while not cute enough to make up for its flaws. The characters also didn't grip me with as much force as I would've wished. Everything is just.. average.

Good Romance; Excellent Character Development; and, Consent

Okay, so you definitely need to read this. There are certain awkward twists and turns in the story. Maybe Karari-sensei couldn’t decide which path to follow in terms of the story line and in the end decided to take the slow and steady romance path, rather than the fast smexy one. But, whatever the reason the manga was absolutely wonderful.
The art is really well suited to the story and just wonderfully done. The character development is one so well done as well. There were many aspects of the story which were dealt with quite maturely such as the need to build relationships. They don’t magically happen on their own, you know. It was quite impressive. Especially, how the issue of consent was so explicitly framed in a positive light and personal boundaries respected. No gaslight, no shaming, no ghosting, no nothing. It’s all love and good.
Also, “When I finally realized that I was loved, that someone could actually love me for me I was really touched”, or something like this. This was one my fav monologues.
