The drama is good, the comedy is not

When it focuses on the plot, it's pretty good. I liked the themes and characters, and they acted realistically (the main guy kind of annoyed me with how forgiving he seemed though).

The comedy usually relies on calling the main character a pervert or the blonde guy using blackmail or violence. It gets old very quick.

The art is okay, I guess, but the shoes are drawn very well and it's clear the artist was passionate about heels.

A lesbian character is introduced and she's great, it didn't feel forced or made it a personality, which I appreciate. The "comedy" surrounding a guy having a crush on her I do not appreciate.

The ending didn't feel totally conclusive, but it was still good.

Also, Miss Seo starts off being kind of bad, but by the end she was my favourite. Yes Queen.

Content warning for some homophobia.

Why Did Men Stop Wearing High Heels?

In the beginning, the author did a marvelous job in focusing the story on the MC's unique taste in shoes and how he deals with it in every day life. It was a beautiful display of self identity and self exploration. Portraying how ourselves is base on how society see us, how we see ourselves, and who we really are. Later into the story, it was less about self identity but rather the fashion sense of high heels and the common sense of the shoe industry. But ultimately speaking, everything that happened before is a build up to introduce the Main Character, what he's like, what he's been through, and why he is who he is. I'd say everything up until the moment of his sister and his ex-girlfriend were all character exploration. The real goal of the story starts afterwards.

Which brings me to my personal opinion of the entire series. Without further due, there is no doubt that "Why Did Men Stop Wearing High Heels?" is a reality escaping webtoon. All the social context and information put into the story isn't used with the intention to mean anything in the real world. Rather, it is used to draw the audience into the story due to a common sense of reality. With that said, I think the story in itself is okay but I would really much like to see a bigger picture to the story.

Everyone's Flawed (Not Hateful)

I'm really enjoying this manhwa and its portrayal of nuanced characters who have to deal with the fact that their society views them as outsiders/perverts/etc. It takes a bit for the manhwa to get to the point where the characters accept each other and themselves, but it's expected since it's not easy.

This manhwa had a fun premise that developed into a well thought out depiction of what it'd be like to have a fetish/to be LGBT/to be an ambitious woman/to not conform in a prejudiced society, and it was a delightful surprise.

Also, though this manhwa is tagged Romance, there isn't much romance in this so don't read this if you're expecting romance to be a main theme, it's not.

Tried not to hate everyone but failed

At first I liked the story, but I just can't read it with any joy because the characters are complete assholes and I literally have no reason to read this right now because you can literally just describe the whole character in one sentence
1: Likes high heels
2: Is a fucking asshole to the MC and likes feet
3: Is a fucking asshole to the MC

I hoped that it would get better over time but I guess there's no point in reading a story where so far the only reason you kept reading it was because the idea is great and you hoped that it'd get better cuz for now everyone is just a complete ass with no character that you can't help but hate, and it's a good thing when you are supposed to hate that character, but when ALL the characters seem like they're designed to be hated then uhh...
Aand I'm not the only one who thinks like that. I'm in the majority sooo yeah

I have thoroughly enjoyed this manga, I'm so hooked I can't wait for the next update. I wasn't sure at first... but before I knew it I was screaming, in excitement of course.
The characters are awesome the whole story line is awesome. I can't help but love it honestly.

I'm head over heels...... Pun intended

Currently at chapter 23

This series started off pretty funny, with an interesting fresh premise. However... Most of the characters are total assholes, and flat out unlikeable. Our MC doesn't stand up for himself, making for a rather pathetic sight. I can think of only one wholly likeable character (a coworker), who barely features in the story and is mostly ignored by the MC.

As of chapter 23, things appear to perhaps be turning around with regards to characters being jerks - but whether this continues to be the case remains to be seen. In any case, my reading experience has been tainted by the total assholery displayed.
