If the other comments gotcha down...

Well, if you were considering reading this, but decided not to because of the more negative comments, trust me:
Read it anyways.
Personally, I only read one comment before I read the work, (I was afraid of spoilers) but it happened to be a negative one. Thank Mang (don't bother googling it, it's a deity me and my atheist brother made up as kids xD) I decided to read it anyways! It was really good. Really. For me, my only issue was that negative comment I read! You see; due to that comment, I refused to let myself like the characters or plot no matter how likable they became. I kept thinking, no, you can't fall in love with this story. You'll be so disappointed by the end. Don't.
But after reading the entire thing, the only thing that disappointed me was that I hadn't allowed myself to enjoy it. The female lead is just quirky beyond belief, and I love it! I love how her reaction to basically everything is Oh look, this is happening. How interesting.; and yet, she wasn't as rediculously stupid as people say. She's actually really intelligent. If she's stuck in a dangerous situation, she's not going to just act blindly. Her thoughts just aren't narrated to the reader, so you have to do a bit of guesswork and factor in completely objective logic before her motives become clear. I can see how people would think she's stupid, though, but rather than being stupid she's just blunt.
She says what she thinks, when she thinks it and that causes her to cross plenty of lines when she asks questions; but I don't really see that as stupidity. It's more like a philosophy of what's wrong with curiosity? If I don't know anything, I won't get anywhere, anyways.
As for the male lead, really nothing wrong with him. He wasn't super unique like the female lead, but he was still a decently realistic and well-rounded character.
I tend to save my tens for things that I really enjoy, but this one deserves it. The only reason I didn't utterly adore it is because I didn't let myself, so my own personal bias should not subtract from the rating. My way of rating manga is: Everything starts at ten. You subtract an appropriate amount for every annoyance and perhaps subtract more as they stack.
This manga had absolutely nothing wrong with it and would have been very enjoyable; so it gets a ten.

Loved it!!!!

i loved this manga. i really don't understand why it got bad reviews. the heroine is unique and original. she wasn't stupid, just a little innocent and naive at times but not in an annoying way. It was cute(come on she's only 15). it's was a refreshing change from the over the top shoujo heroine that have become the norm. Best thing she didn't cry once during the whole manga. I'm not use to that. At some point the heroine always cries over something or another. Getting jealous and disappointed over every little thing the guy does. I even like the hero. He was a well thought out character. He wasn't some sadistic a$$hole who felt the need to bully and tease the heroine(which sadly is also the norm). every characters' actions were well within ranges of what i consider normal and not over the top. So ignore the bad reviews and decide for yourself if you like the manga.

The protaganist is so completly dumb and oblivious to erything going on around her and because of this, the story goes nowhere. The romance is a letdown as well. More of,a comedy than a romance, and not a very funy one. Art is good.

Nice read!

This is an interesting read actually. The main heroine may look like some dimwitted chick but she's frankly honest and I really like her. I like Kashburn and Nora too. Although Nora is like, trying all kinds of ways to get rid of Alicia in somewhat funny ways. The storyline is pretty interesting, I kinda like the twist here and there but there's one thing I'm not really sure of though. Like the part where the assassin killed Alicia's first "husband". I mean, what was the reason for?

That part should have been clearly pointed out although I know it's just a way to get the heroine's story started. Also, the twist at the end is a bit complicated, what with the "angels wings" or whatnot. I guess I gotta re-read the ending to understand what's going on. But I'd say give it a try. The art is pretty good too (especially the hot looking guys, minus Earl Reiden. He's like a brat, honestly). But yeah, this manga has a lot of potential.

Easy-read, may have some plot twists (?)

It's hard to tell how far a manga can go just by reading 2 chapters (excluding a prologue) but I love it already because of how easy-going the heroine is, and how atypical she is compared to other shoujo heroines.

Don't be expecting a sappy shoujo story or anything that you've read so far. The heroine is not someone who cares much about romance, and actually has a HEAD on her shoulders where she sensibly thinks of others and herself before silly love matters.

I really like this manga, and I think it has a lot of potential. A bit curious on what happens next - can't wait for future chapters! smile

A Little Twist on the Typical

The characters and art are what carry this one. The heroine is definitely the odd sort in this manga--and I like it. She's similar in some ways to the typical shoujo ditz in that she's persistently optimistic and naive--but she's not optimistic in the way that most are. Instead of being like: "I'm suffering but I'm going to make the best of it!" She's more like: "Such terribly dramatic things are happening to me, I love it!" She's a fan of the horrific and dark because she's obviously a horror novel bookworm, and her practical obsession with how much everything costs while gleefully accepting things that would shock or bother any normal person is kind of funny. As for the romantic interest(s?), the male lead is gorgeously drawn and kind of interesting in his own way. They make a good couple. The other characters are all very likeable, even if they turn out to be the bad guy. Or become the good guy. Or both. The whole thing has a bit of a mysterious beauty and the beast sort of feel to it (er, kind of?) but keeps it playful with all the characters' antics. Overall a fun read and the plot wasn't bad either.

Expectations not met

I kept expecting more to happen. Every chapter I wondered if this is when Alicia's character would get flushed out a bit more. Even by the end I sort of just felt like it was the end of an introduce all the main characters and plot arc. By the end, it felt like, "ok so now the story can began" but nope, that is the end.

The story is not bad, I will admit that while I knew what would happen, I did want to see it happen. I did wish there was a bit more to be told though. The storytelling by my opinion was not as smooth as I'd have liked, but it is fine.

The art is nice; the characters lean more on the likable side, with only two at a high risk of becoming annoying.

Overall I had fun reading it and would have kept reading if it had more to offer.

Interesting & Just Plain Awesome Characters xD

In all honesty, I read this manga with the expectation it's going to be like "those mangas", but somehow I forced myself to read at least a little bit since:
1) I was curious, and
2) I just wanted to get over the manga and x the tab out.

.. Well, wasn't I smacked really hard across the face?

In the end, I was DREADING the ending coming closer!! (There's only about 5 chapters uploaded so far D': ...). It's not only humorous, but the heroine is clever, and although she may be naive and a tad ditsy, I can't hate her like the other shojou heroines like that. She doesn't cry and spend hours thinking about how sexy her new husband looks, and feeling all insecure and mopey instead of actually working hard. She just... acts like herself. She doesn't blush like that, or even show any obvious dislike to the marriage. It's just... ack!

I don't know! DX

I mean, the mangaka just created her so darn well, that she has this likeable personality which I just can't hate! The same with the main guy- sure, he's done some pretty terrible actions, but he hadn't exactly to the main character herself- he didn't rape her or molest her or continuously reprimand her or whatnot. He treats her like how he would really treat anyone, but her blunt, honest, and straightforward yeah-the-heck-with-it-oh-well-I-actually-love-how-this-arrangement-is-so-far freaking AWESOME personality does interest him, and thus he treats her a little bit more kinder than others.

The drawings amazing, as along with the story, and it's one of those mangas which never update fast enough but I'm just dying for them too!!! biggrin

Yes, the historical tab might throw you off, but trust me- coming from me who doesn't really enjoy history, (or historical manga for that matter), I thought that it was pretty good. It wasn't too over the edge and dead boring, but it was enough so it didn't just seem like some kind of half-assed slapstick comedy. I really think you should check it out! smile

I really liked (most of) the characters and the plot was beautiful along with the art. I just really hated Nora's guts though... -__- Still can't get over the fact that Kashburn is still going to keep her as a his (supposed) lover even though he and Alicia have already fallen in love and gotten married. Not the mention the fact that Nora is a complete witch and keeps tricking Alicia to her death....
But overall, this was an excellent manga and I am going to continue on by reading the new sequel that's been released! I hope everyone else also does so! It's called Shinigamihime no Saikon: Baraen no Tokei Koushaku. Enjoy your reading smile

Art is great but terrible execution of dialogue and plot

I was attracted to the clean and incredible artwork however that ends there.

One description: A story for females to self-insert themselves as the female where men fall for her unconditionally.

Every arc always involve a pretty boy dashing himself up to her and asking her to leave with him with no previous story or dialogue established. It's always "I see you're the wife of that duke! Elope with me instead!"

The plot goes no where and the dialogue is stale. The male lead is the typical character with a bad personality. The female is incredibly naive.

Moreover, the male mc married the female mc with the goal of producing children with noble blood. Despite being the her husband, everyone treats them as "you can't lay your hands on her even if she's your wife!" What nonsense is this...
