Slow Burn and Boring

I love the characters and love how I was so frustrated with the slow-burn scenes, it makes me ache for more from them. Maybe, that’s why I’m kind of disappointed with the ending because the whole volume feels like an introduction for more love adventures for the couple but it ended abruptly. Although, I kinda like that the ending was the sign-part.

Although, I was frustrated most of the time while I’m reading this manga, I can feel the tension between the characters. And I can definitely feel their unfolded and feelings that they can’t or don’t know how to verbally express them which is a plus for me.

I like their first encounter and that they’re friends with the bullies at the end and even though there’s no segg scenes during the first chapters, it was fine because like I’ve said, there's tension between the characters that it makes you frustrated that they can’t freely express them.

BUT, I was really surprised that Suzunari was the uke. Although, there’s the panel in during the segg scene that Suzunari went on top but I’m not sure if he’s the one who put it in. LOL. Anyway, some scenes are boring for me but I love the artstyle so much! Both characters are cute especially Suzunari.

.. but this manga is still far from perfect and could be much improved on. Both the plot and characterisation felt like they're only half way there - there are still many questions unanswered in the characters' backgrounds as well as their growth and developments in their relationship. The mangaka just kinda introduced us to this setting and this cast and did not really do anything substantial with them, so even by the end of the story we still know very little about these characters and barely understand a thing about them aside from the stereotypical quirks. But for what it's worth I do like the parts that were present, it's cute overall and the atmosphere created is pretty convincing. Chemistry between the leads and supporting cast is quite good as well, which I always appreciate. Oh and the smut is hot too, albeit short, haha.

I really loved the art and characterization of the leads in this manga. They had great chemistry and you could feel the romantic tension between them, and the unspoken emotions as well. My favorite in particular was Younosuke thinking about his possible future in married life and how his kids would inevitably become friends with Suzunari's kids and even fall in love with each other. Nothing else is mentioned, but you know that, without a doubt, the two are in love with each other and will not admit it.

My only gripe with this manga is how it introduced lots of random little plot points without going back to them again. Younosuke seems to have some kind of trauma with his mother which is only present in one chapter and then never mentioned again. I also didn't like how we got the scene of their 20th birthday in the extra instead of integrated into the main narrative. That was a crucial scene we needed! I really didn't like hearing about it in dialogue instead of seeing it for myself. We also don't explicitly go back to some of the cryptic things that Suzunari said that Younosuke was wondering about. As BL readers, the implication is obvious, but narratively we still want clarification on what he meant. Why have it at all if it won't be addressed again?

Good manga, in the end. I'm in love with the art and will look into the other works from this author.

It's been a long time since I had so much feels reading a yaoi, and I've read a looot of them.
First, it is pretty realistic, and that's a good point for me. They talked and acted like I'd expect real japanese guys to. Their dialogues felt very masculine, not one of them is acting or talking like a girl. And even though I read other mangas with masculine characters, it's the first time I felt it so strongly.
Second, the first four chapters may seem lacking emotions or that the situation doesn't evolve. But it's only due to their lack of communication. And on this point I have to say I find it wonderfully done. The author gives us only the essential on what's going on between them and we don't always have the explanation as to why it's happening, which allows us to feel deeper the impact of their lack of communication. At least that's how I felt.
Third, the last chapter is litteraly overflowing with their emotions, each and every move or word carries emotions, especially the sex scene. The contrast with the four precedent chapters makes those emotions so much stronger. Plus their chemistry in this chapter is just delightful. It's been a long time since I came across a sex scene where you can feel the love between the characters so much.
And fourth, I love the art, and it suits the story really well.
To sum it up, I strongly recommend this manga to anyone.
