One day, in search for a thrilling mystery as well as easy money, they take several donation boxes and fabricate a curse to scare everyone: “Ohone-sama’s curse”. After scrawling 骨 (bone) all over the chalkboards and spreading rumors of the curse, the donation boxes are quickly filled and the curse becomes a major legend of the school. Of course, only Tomohiro and his friends knew the curse was fake. It wasn’t possible for anything to happen.
That is, until they receive a donation of 50,000 yen and a letter to go with it, reading: “Please curse Tanashi Miyoko”
Immediately after that letter, bullying and crimes in the school escalated, strange incidents occur, and Tomohiro and his friends are left with a much bigger mystery than they wanted to have, that they are forced to investigate by themselves. What happened shouldn’t have happened. Those who are alive should not be alive, those who know what they know shouldn’t have been able to know, and familiar faces are hardly what they seem, but why? And how?

Rating: 6.8 / 10.0
Of course, the ratings on MU are hardly ever to my satisfaction, but what's with the absurdly low scores for this one? Is it because it's somewhat lacking compared to Higurashi and Umineko, or...?
In my opinion, the plot is interesting (despite being slightly too fast-paced), and the last couple of chapters were fairly intriguing from a psychological standpoint. As a quick exploration of how superstition can be anything but harmless even in a world devoid of any actual supernatural phenomena, Kaidan to Odorou does a pretty decent job for its ~280 pages. The characters are somewhat flat and a bit more suspense wouldn't have come amiss, but for a single volume, I have no complaints.
All in all, a good candidate for a quick read when you have only an hour or so to spare.

one can see the true preparator miles away. however, it still do not detract from the overall creepiness of the situation, with the art that make everyone look demented. the last few pages are puzzling, but i just chalk it up to hormonal kids.
