Description

Hotaka, a nurse, is one of five childhood friends, all of them are males. One day Masato, now married and living separately, comes to visit the apartment complex, owned by Yuuji, where the others live. That same day, Chika finds out that Miyabi lends Hotaka a few yaoi manga. I'm in the minority in that I enjoyed this, mainly because I really like the uke, Hotaka. He is awkward with wanting things for himself and showing his feelings but he is kind and hardworking, and always willing to bend for other people. It shows when he's with his friends and also his patients. But he isn't overtly simple and naive either, is actually dependable. He's calm, introspective but overthinks. I like his personality and personally could understand why two of his friends fell in love with him.

Chika was willful and bright and I felt his desperation and love for Hotaka. He did everything at his own pace, which was too much too fast for Hotaka, and I don't think they fit together much personality-wise so I was happier with the end pairing, yet I'm also glad he was able to make his memories and is the first for Hotaka. Masato would have never and seems to have gained confidence by witnessing Chika and Hotaka together anyway.

Similar to Hotaka reacting to Masato, I felt the chemistry whenever Masato touched him from the very beginning so I guess my ship just was always that way. Masato is more blank and calm than even Hotaka and while they do match, I really liked to see his strong feelings show later when he's with Hotaka, him breaking out of just being an observer to assert himself.

Story-wise Chika got more time with Hotaka and I wished for more coverage on the final pairing. I feel kind of bad for Chika, but his bright personality and ability to dive forward at his own pace and find happiness with the circumstances he chose really is what makes this love triangle between friends bearable.

Can be quite frustrating as you read along, but once you're into volume two, you'll just feel like it depicts exactly like the real-life japanese couple story. Their relationships are vague and many things unsaid because this is the Japanese culture. Even characters like Hotaka arent very rare in Japan. While it does feel frustrating, but it also feels satisfying because it depicts very well the Japanese culture.
I would say give it a try, and decide after reading.

i love reading asou kai's mangas but this manga is one of those that really made me me think
"i hope i didn't read this", There wasn't enough love for the couple that ended up together, i don't know about how others think but I really pity the seme, if only at least even once at the end of the story there's a part where the uke got jealous just to show the readers the he already love the seme, but well that is just my view..

It was alright, the relationships were kinda everywhere. Wasn't very realistic, probably needed maybe ten more chapters? Just to properly flesh out the relationships. Tried to shove too many different elements and relationships into too small of a space, never really got to know any of the characters.

..is what I am thinking. Did it just end like that? For me the story/characters are written very bad. I mean, what? You sleep with everyone just because it is a bother to refuse? What?
The Chika guy was so head over hills for Hotoka, and then he just went and got married like this?
Eh? Hotaka goes out with Masato, but always thinks about Chika, and compare the two.
Then he also thought "it never goes like we wants", just like the title of the manga. For me it means that he regrets letting chika go...
I didn't like chika that much, actually no one, but I liked the fact that it wasn't that much of a cliché like 99% of the othe yaois. But it feels totally off. I don't know. As if the story was changed in the middle for some unknoe reason, and let it end like that... strange...

Not because the story was super good, but because the pair I want didn't end up together. This is why I hate reading love triangle stories. I just never learn.

Guess many people didn't like Chika, but I still want them to end up togetheeeer.

This has got to be the most unusual take on a love triangle that I've ever seen in any medium before, I'll give it that. The second volume at least justifies the weirdness in composition of the previous one, but it really was a frustrating experience plowing through volume 1 because of the obvious mismatch between the characters and their dynamics.
I still don't think any of the characters completely won me over; sure some are nice but they're not outstanding or interesting enough to make me truly care for them. The art is good though as always, but that's a given from the mangaka anyways.

Hmmm, this one felt strange for me. I like the love triangle aspect, but it was handled in a very strange way which didn't feel right. The whole manga was written in a very thoughtful, introspective manner, and one would expect the characters to behave realistically given the tone of it, but instead they felt very off. Hotaka was especially unnatural and was just swept along the whole time, even though he took the time to think deeply about many other things. I really wanted to see his relationship with Masato be fleshed out more, because in the end it felt very one sided still.

As for the consent issues, Chika was really awful about that, though we weren't really supposed to root for him to begin with I guess. I didn't feel Masato was pushing the line at all though. He was pretty respectful, and Hotaka was 100% down.

I guess everything in the end turned out alright. The love way the love triangle ends kinda left a bad taste but the main character seems happy enough. The art was really good but I felt kinda hollow after reading it. I don't think I'd read it again but I guess it killed time
