Series was axed at volume 5. The novel goes on longer.

No great loss imo.

The premise is sufficiently bizarre to fuel some great comedy, but the story unfortunately got axed and therefore ends on a disappointing note. I suppose the original webnovel might have the complete story, albeit obviously without the art of a manga. Incidentally, the art here was uneven, but still contributed a lot to the comedy.

Fairly funny story, but I wish the dragon was at least SOMEWHAT strong. It doesn't have to be on the level of a boss, but at least worthy of a dragon, even a relatively weak one. I mean, just look at that guy, armored with scales yet feels that a stone thrown by a child hurts enough for him to cry and he'll lose even against small fries one tenth or less of his size. I know the very idea of this story is a dragon that is vegan and weak, but it somehow rubs me the wrong way that he's weaker than even small fry dragons are supposed to be. He's a 5000 year old dragon and is quite a big one, just carrying his frame would require enormous amounts of strength, not to mention an extremely sturdy body, yet he can't harm a fly and would die from being attacked by untrained villagers wearing farming tools. There are some basic rules that shouldn't be broken even in fantasy/comedy because it'll just feel stupid if you do. Well, maybe he'll become slightly stronger as the story develops, at least it seems he will, only slightly though.

I can feel like this will stop being funny after a few chapters more unless the author changes things up and stops playing on the same gags all the time. The girl is powerful, the girl is crazy, the dragon is super weak with a half-arsed personality and no self-confidence yet the girl obeys his every whim and serves him with her whole being, then there's the misunderstandings that come from this, often the dragon reacting with panic to everything and being a general wuss because he's probably at the same power level as a bunny. It gets old quickly and this is exactly the same kind of problem that many other comedy authors has. They don't mix things up as they get comfortable with the exact same gags and repeated scenarios over and over again without adding much new stuff or twists. It's lazy writing. Some authors are great at using the same style and gags but changing it up enough to ensure that it keeps on being funny but this is sadly not one of those authors.

The girl became easily OP enough for both of them, but thinks that she got her power from the dragon which ends up with all these misunderstandings. It's always the same pattern. It was hilarious for two chapters, then it got gradually less funny and by chapter 6, I hardly even smile at their antics. It's not that I wouldn't want to read a few more chapters, but unless the author fixes his writing, it's not going to be interesting enough to keep on reading for much longer. The art is quite nice though, plus points for that.

A purely comedic story like this has to survive on whether it is funny, and just two chapters in I will give this a 9 just because those two chapters consistently made me laugh.

You will feel bad for the dragon, who either digs his own grave deeper or acts as a sobbing tsukkomi in a world gone mad.
