I'm just surprised that this is a real thing lolol. When the manga has such an absurd title, you'd better hope it delivers on that front. It's a fun juxtaposition between how intense the warriors take their battles (which are quite scandalous to the outsider) and how absurd the battling and customs are.

The second volume just focuses on after the tournament and feels like shipping fandisc. I'm quite disappointed with how there's a whole 8 page extra that isn't translated of the Warriors getting tested before hand to ensure they're fit for battle. Additionally, there's not enough length to fully develop Roro and Bulan's relationship in my opinion.

First things first, I have to applaud the author for coming up with something so unique and unconventional. It's always refreshing to read something different from the millions of other high school BL or office BL. The whole concept is weird and that might not suit all tastes, but just for the uniqueness and originality I have to give the mangaka her props.

As expected from Ike Reibun sensei, her art style is always great and we are blessed with masculine and muscled men.

Another good point is the concept of having multiple characters / couples. We got 11 characters and so 5 couples. And you know what ? As difficult as it is to handle a bunch of different characters + side characters, the mangaka managed to get her story straight and juggle between her myriad of characters. The cast were interesting, some more than the others (my faves were Blanc and chief Roro). But still, they were all endearing and had their own personality and quirks.

This manga is a smut galore of eight armed combatants in an exotic island. The racy artwork is absolutely beautiful and even character design for each warriors are very interesting.
I kinda want to see more of Yudha x Pisau couple because I'm a sucker for childhood friends trope. Volume 2 of this title becomes instant favorite as it explores more on Matthew x Harto relationship during their college days overseas.
If you guys are looking for some good quality porn with plot, i highly recommend this one.

I really like Ike Reibun's work, especially her art. I 100% favor masculine characters in my BL, and Dick Fight Island doesn't disappoint on that front, so that part is enjoyable. The men are very physically attractive, sexy, and manly in body, plus SuBLime did a great job of getting a less censored version! However, the story is a little lackluster. The premise is of course absurd and used to get the guys to be sexual with each other, so I shouldn't have expected much, but I don't know... The battle scenes were both humorous and anti-climactic. I think I want more romance. We shall see what volume 2 brings.

If you're a Ike fan, I still think you should pick it up because it will hopefully encourage more of her better works (such as Bi no Kyoujin) to be licensed.

VOLUME 2 Edit: Having finished both volumes, I think my original opinion stands. It's just okay. Volume 2 didn't have any of the battle smut scenes and instead featured more of the romance between the couples, almost as a "What are they doing now?" kind of thing. I think it was a much more conventional volume and more similar to your average BL. Art is absolutely fantastic, no question, but this work lacks any sort of plot to make me want to re-read it. It was my first BL that I bought without having read a scanlation first -- and I think it's very important to read a sample before you buy it! This title will probably gather dust on my shelf.

That's....so awkward

Okay, if you are not an Indonesian like me, you might find this manga as something sexy, kinky, exotic, kind of weird fetish with the costume thing but ok, still promising about the plot, the handsome and hot charas, and the sexy times since its Ike Reibun afterall.

But me, an Indonesian, find this manga, well, awkward. I can't even find the correct English word to express how this manga makes me feel lol. I don't want to say its cultural appropriation, but I also quite a bit happy since the beauty of our tropical islands was drawn nicely. Ah damn I'm so confused. There are a lot of Indonesian language used for the names, even the title itself.
I still can't say much about the plot since it only had one chapter released until now, and this review can and will update if newer chapter is to be released. I will try my best to read Harto as Haruto since 'Harto' name only brings me (and many Indonesians) heebie jeebies and silent resentment. Taring and Saikorunaga is nice and unique, tho.
