Read the Novel

I am in complete agreement with TribesX. The amount of detail they cut from the novel is staggering. In addition to the things TribesX pointed out, note that they also cut:

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
- The entire process of leveling up his S-Rank monsters in the ownerless flame dungeon.
- All of the cool details of golem creation and improvement over time.
- Various details in the fight scenes, such as when the human hero almost assassinated our protagonist in the city war, but was foiled by the R'leyh singer's warning and Kuina's swift reaction speed.
- The details of the alternate dimension that R'leyh singer inhabits, much of the information gathered from there, and much of the spying process itself. The R'leyh singer plays a much larger role in the novel.

...and much more. I could go on all day.

I can't say the manga is bad as a standalone, but the novel is GREAT, and you will miss out on that if you skip the novel and read straight through the manga.

So, what I would recommend is that first-time readers read the novel and manga in parallel. Read through a scene in the novel, then read through that same scene in the manga. That will let you take in the well-done illustrations of the manga without skipping on the stuff it misses.

Too many cuts

As said in the title, they cut too many explanations and details.
It's fine for an adaptation to change things a bit, but simply skipping almost all explanations is just a bad decision.
If I didn't previously read the novel, I wouldn't have understood anything.

I stopped at chap 13 because I found it really lacking compared to the novel.
At least, the art is nice.

Things that lack explanations :
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
- The way medals are obtained, imitation or original.
- The way monster are produced with medals (lvling or fixed, ranks, etc.).
- How the "normal" monster are obtained.
- How the golems are constructed and the importance of the mine and ores.
