Nice Read and Highly Recommended

I decided to read this manga to pass some time. It also continuously appears on recommendation lists and been categorized as historical romance (which is really my cup of tea) so I gave it a try. I just finished reading it last night and ... I don't regret it.
In terms of shojo manga, I tend to be picky —that once I found the male or female lead annoying, I'll drop it but I think, so far, this manga is an exception. The female lead is very childish and weak. I don't like how she refers herself as the third-person when talking or even on POV. I feel annoyed really like Hana, why don't you grow up? Stop being childish or at least, refer yourself as the first-person (・へ・) but she didn't until the last couple of chapters. I'm also a fan of character development a lot especially the heroines but Hana fails at that department. Nieways, what I only like about her is she is so optimistic and easy to befriend with (which I guess most of the heroines are). At the very least, she's still not included in my I-Hate-This-Characters List.
In terms of the male lead, well, the character development that I've been looking for can be found in Vivi. Not an extravagant character development, but at least. He became softer and he smiles now more often. He also turned out emanating a nice and pleasant aura unlike the usual, dark and evil. Well as for the rest of the characters, there are no hateful characters on this manga. Each of them have their own colorful personalities that you'll eventually learned to love.
On the story department... The story started cute, funny and interesting. Each chapter is a light read. That's why I can't help but to finish this immediately. Some chapters made me smile so much to the point of laughing, others just make me in tears. A heartache indeed especially when they're saying "forever and ever". I can't help but to feel sad and lonely. Some scenes are very cliche and you already know what will happen but I let it slide anyway since I still want to see Vivi saving Hana he he he. The only thing that I really want to know is where did baby Hana come from? How come someone manage to left the baby on Vivi's gate mansion? And why on Vivi's mansion? I'm just really curious.

The ending ... Mmmm... I, I literally cry TT. I'm still crying whenever I read that one page confirming it all. I was caught offguard tbh. Ever since, I've read the first few chapters, I'm fully aware what will happen. The repeating of symbols —of flowers that wilt, the foreshadowing of what Hana said when Vivi got sick, the fireworks. That's why I already prepared myself just in case my guess is correct. Yup, I am correct. The author ended it up that way which I trully appreciated and really thankful. The story proves that it's a combination of fantasy and reality. Thus, making us appreciate life and the days passing while we are living. That being happy and feel of being loved and to love is what important.

On the romance department... At first, I believe that what they felt for each other is a father-child relationship and at that kind of age, Hana must be mistaking that what she felt for Vivi is not love towards the opposite sex rather it's love towards a father/brother. For Vivi, I think it's love towards of having a daughter since the day he picked up Hana, all is new to him. That's why at first, I somewhat disagree with their relationship. But fortunately, I'm glad that Oto-sensei decided to tackle it on some chapters (´∀`*). She also grew up and a few times she also turned to Nigou, so people who are worried that this story is pedo-ish. You don't need worry. Anyway, the fluffy and doki doki scenes that will supposedly make the reader thrilled and giggly have weak effects on me. Maybe it's because I see Hana as a child ha ha ha. It's different with Nigou tho.
The art.... For me, there's no such thing as bad art. Well in fact, I always love the art styles of each manga that I read. And of course, Hana to Akuma is included! What I love most on this manga's art are the dresses! The ruffles, laces and the designs of that victorian-ish clothes of girls, the sophisticated and elegant clothes of the noble demons. I love them most —especially the exquisite and nice wardrobe of Vivi. (´ー`)
Overall, this manga is highly recommended to anyone especially to those people who love a light read yet something sentimental or just want to smile, laugh and appreciates. I highly advised to read it at night, you'll feel the emotions more especially the ending. ( ゚∀ ゚)

Pretty much a must-read

This is actually my first Shoujo manga I've read, and it truly was a worthy read. It had all this love-war stuff that I suspect that Shoujo usually has, but it was still able to capture me, a loyal Seinen/Blood and Gore/Action-reader, long enough to reach the end in a day or two. Unless you have a general phobia for the MC talking and even thinking about herself in third-person, I think you should read it!

Are you able to read a TEN volume manga where the main character constantly refers to herself in the third person? Our heroine, Hana, refers to herself in the third person even in her private thoughts: "Hana didn't want to hurt Vivi..." "Hana misses Vivi" "Hana is not feeling so good". It does not get better when she talks to others: "Hana will do her best to forget you, Vivi!" (Urk)

Not only does the fact that the mangaka has the heroine talk like this serve to further infantilize a weak female character, she IS actually still pretty much a child and the main love interest is an adult. Emetic and inappropriate.

That ending

That ending makes it worth it, nice shouju, surprinsingly unrepetitive, you see character grow and I loved the characters, the eyes can get really big for Hana, but I loved the idea and how the author drove the story. Well paced, and decently long. And really, that ending, that just makes me give it a 9, because I loved it. It made me cry.

It was intricate, heart warming, and a lovely. Artistry very rustic and elegant in a awkward sort of way.

she was a girl picked up from the streat. He was a master of the house. A demon master. They go through a series of things that test their hearts boundaries. More so the little miss then anything. Poor girl. But I love it when she gets to be older once in a while to put him in his place. The story tends to start to get full here and there but it always picks up again. When he leaves and how she tries her best to find him again gets my heart strings like no tmrw. Then of course he finally sees her as the lil woman she is.

I tried to stop reading this manga but I just can't help it. The story pulls you to it. I admit there was some redundancy, but that's just a minor part. I thought I was prepared for the ending but it caught me off guard. It was totally worth it.

The story touches the heart and maybe that's why I cried a river after reading this.

Yeah.. what do u expect? It has demon in it! It even says in the title!!
This is as realistic as u can get with a manga that has demon in it.. which is unrealistic. The art is adorable, the ending OMG, the love is simple and maybe a little (aa lot) pedophilistic (I dont think this is a word xD) but its a manga with a demon so it's a okay (in real life this could happen since nonrelated people dont give off the "stay away from me.. we're related" hormone). This is sweet and a really nice read.. the ending is nice in its symbolism but COME ON (symbolism always ruin everything xD)!!!!! Can I have a nice normal shoujo ending?? I like the ending none the less. And although the girl got on my nerve sometime, this is definitely oje of the top shoujo to read..

Demon X Stupid Girl

I loved this manga, I started it a while ago, and while it was updating I kept on reading till it was complete! I would say it is a ten, but towards the ending it seemed like the author kinda wrapped it up rather fast. I would of liked a better ending but it was really good to finally finish the manga. The plot is pretty good...
I have to wonder, would it be considered that Hana pretty much fell in love with her dad? I mean Vivi is pretty and appears young, but what if he looked old and all, would there still be love between them?

This manga left me speechless.

and moved me to tears at the ending, which i practically never get by reading a manga.

What i really liked about this manga was the genuine affections the characters had for each other, which was not always love.

or at least not in the beginning.
Although the themes in this manga are overused by other manga’s and the plot seems very clichéd, the storyline was written in a very refreshing way.
The character development is also done in a very realistic way so that one gets really attached to them, and sad to leave them when the story ends.

Overall it was a very sweet story and definitely worth reading!
