Spoiler (mouse over to view)
he's supposed to be mining, says he's using a pickaxe yet he's holding a very scary looking scythe?
they live in feudal japan but all of a sudden the second guy appears with a huge motorbike
MC is a retard that starts a fight with a huge demon with no weapons at all. After receiving a beating that would kill any grown martial artist he's just dandy.
From there off to fight a humongous kijin that should be able to obliterate them with a flick of it's nail. Of course, MC rescues his friend and defeats the 50m high demon, from there power ranger samurais arrive and a completely nonsensical battle starts.
Dropped it here.

No thanks, there are better stories out there about friendship and how one should not loose sight of their dreams in front of adversity. This is most likely targeted at kids around 12-14 and is thus very childish and doesn't take things too seriously, the classic emotion equal strength stuff, as if the MC having a reason to not loose tramples the other peoples reason to not loose. So no, no thanks.

I like the friendship with the main trio and the quest so far. I'm hoping it's less confusing than Magi (RIP). The art is always cheerful and dynamic in each interaction. The manga-ka really does great work on joke scenes and small SOL ch. I'm a bit iffy of the MC getting a lot of power-ups so early in the series like it just means more villian power-creep and training arcs. Sigh.
