There are two main plotlines in the series: the MC's quest of saving the fantasy world from the demons, and his development as a human being in the real world. The existence alone of this second plotline makes the manhwa unique, as most isekai simply forget about the real word. But it doesn't end there.

The fantasy world this manhwa presents us is the classical swords and sorcery medieval one, but the seriousness and darkness of some of its aspects reminds me of series like Game of Thrones. In this world, the nobles are not just part of the background, but play an important role in the development of the story. The characters also feel like part of a medieval setting: they suffer the stratification of society, only hear news through bards, etc. In regard to fantasy, I feel like this manhwa has done what many others hinted, but never ended up doing: the supernatural truly feels alive in the world, as there are not only demons, magicians, etc., but also gods.

The main character of the manhwa is a hikikomori, and his chuunibyou really contrasts with the seriousness of the world, creating a comedic element which, at least in my case, made me laugh. Thanks to the influence of the characters in the fantasy world, the MC evolves from simply being someone that "prefers 2D girls" to actually showing care and even responsibility for the people that surround him. As the story progresses, you see flashbacks which show you how he ended up becoming who he is. His backstory is believable, and really makes you care for the character. It even has an effect in his beliefs, as we see in his hate for spreading lies. I believe its hikikomori MC gives the manhwa a lot of potential, and that the idea hasn´t been used enough in the realm of manga and manhwa.

This manga is deep, beautiful, complex, and compelling. The story is very relatable for those of us who might self-identify as reading a bit more manga than we know is healthy for us. Apart from that, the characters themselves are all multi-dimensional. They have clear values and beliefs and perspectives. Good and evil aren’t entirely simple reductive ideas. Although there is still a really clear antagonist, there is also a very complex and rich world of people trying to get by and doing what they can to have the best life they can. In the fantasy world, we see a lot of characters that are portrayed as evil but with clear kindness. And the story takes place in two worlds that both have this.

The story also touches a lot on large scale concerns around how the public opinion is swayed by those in power and how those in power themselves are swayable. Some having information and being selfish while others are doing their best to care for everyone, but lack something they need.

I’m honestly in awe and have found myself pausing to journal and think about the amazing plot and characters. There are some amazing lines as well… This story is clearly the kind of story that would make fantasy and sci fi writers the Ursule K Leguin and Octavia Butler proud. I’m really glad i found this manga.

This manga is also thankfully a lot less gruesome than many that take on the dark topics it does. The depictions of violence, like in most manga, are still a bit more than I enjoy, but I think my threshold for low violence is WAY lower than the 80% of readers.

OH AND THE ART!! So beautiful! There are some incredibly full color scenes here… Reminds me of some of the amazing landscapes that you find on deviantart. I’m a big fan. I don’t give out 10s easily and honestly, I want to give this a 9.5 but I can’t give that so I’m rounding up to a good ol ‘ 10…

It's really impressive how this level of quality was kept in many areas. The story flows well, it's original, both funny and emotional at times. The numerous characters are mostly flat, something that makes the main ones pretty weak, borderline comic relief; MC on the other hand makes for an exception and has a very bright and powerful character development. The art is just outwordly: godly landscapes, impressive fightscenes and some really amazing fanservice, in terms of both male and female character appearance.

The art is great, comedy is there and it's mostly good. But it does rely on sexualising girls a bit much for me. The plot is interesting and it had twists I really liked. Although I wish we did see the figurine again because she was fun. The end was a bit sudden and I wish we got more,but I still enjoyed my time.

The art is God tier

The story is meh and the characters development is as thin as a paper. Like the others have said it's great if you want to kill time, but If you want a good story not recomend to read.

Got tired from broken ass embarrassing MCs. I'm assuming he will grow, but I don't like reading these weird fantasies of the most useless people becoming competent through magic. It is like feeding the monster instead of fighting it. That is not how you deal with this societal problem.

This series is honestly really cringeworthy but wow the art is fantastic.
The art is seriously one of the best I've ever seen, but it's so wasted on this st*pid story.
