The characters are deeply uninteresting. A survival nut finds himself in another world... alright, I get it, his interest isn't in civilization. He just wants to eat a bunch of creatures that don't exist back home. Fair enough. Simple guy, but the rest of the cast can carry the series...
...except they don't. They are even blander than he is. The first girl to arrive has nothing going for her. She's supposedly a local, and from a rare tribe, and has rare magic, and she's his first point of contact in the new world, and... they just do nothing with it! She's there to heap praise upon the mc, be a pretty lady to flirt with, and be something for him to rescue and constantly tell her to have more self-esteem. Maybe she'd gain some self-esteem if she did literally anything!
Then you get the holy knight and she actually feels like she might have some sauce, being an important person and incredibly powerful and... Oh wait, no, she doesn't do anything either. The MC is stronger than her almost immediately, and she doesn't do anything. She doesn't train him or provide more information about the world. The most important things she does are give him a weapon and act as a distraction. Miserable.
And it's not just these three. Every person in the world, and the world itself, are chronically uninteresting. You have a man from another world with godlike powers who doesn't make the slightest attempts at hiding them, but no one asks him a damn thing. He spends weeks with these girls, and there's not even an off-hand question of "Hey, so what's your deal exactly?" The whole world is chronically uncurious, and since he himself is only interested in food, there is just no development whatsoever.
I get it. Some people want to see fluffy slice of life, or overpowered Isekai MCs, or fantasy cooking. I actually like all three of those things... but this series is mediocre at all of them! So, so, so many series do one or two of these things better... and hell, some even do all of them better!
If you want a simple low-effort read to pass an afternoon, give it a shot. Just keep your expectations tempered.
