Description
From Exiled Rebels Scans:

After he starts working as a bodyguard at the burlesque bar “Rainbow,” Kuroba meets dancer Kaede, who doesn’t look Japanese. Kaede is fascinating, yet intimidating. He is able to mesmerize the customers, which makes him one of the bar’s top dancers. On the surface he seems strong and confident, but under that mask there’s a man who knows what fear is, and Kuroba can’t help but be drawn to him. Kuroba hopes that Kaede can let him into his heart. However, because of a certain incident, Kaede has suffered a love-related trauma….?

where horny?

Came for horny gay, as depicted in the cover. Turns out to be a vapid run-of -the-mill romance with nothing to show or offer. Thus, i felt totes very disappoint. Fujoshi beware, go read pwp on ao3 or something instead.

this story severely suffers from being told from kuroba's perspective, who is a nice guy, but not interesting AT ALL. Kaede is the one with all these past traumas, this should have been his story instead of having him dump all his trauma on Kuroba in the last chapter. plot moves too quickly and has really random developments, like the shootout😕 and the fire?? I was laughing, was I reading a telenovela?

anyways, needs way more character development, chop down the plot since it was nonsensical anyways

Yet another work containing rape, from Nagi Wataru

This mangaka seriously can't write a story without including rape in it, and handles it horribly at that.

Kaede has a traumatic past related to sexual violence and doesn't want men to see him in a sexual way, yet willingly flirts with and throws himself at Kuroba at literally their first meeting. Then there's a shootout at the bar, whose single emotional consequence is facilitating Kaede and Kuroba getting together. PTSD is not a thing, or if it is a thing, it only comes up when it's convenient (oddly enough, Kaede has no trouble having sex with Kuroba and brings up the traumatic past after they have sex).

Basically, the tone shifts abruptly from serious to lovey-dovey steamy sex, and the characterization is all over the place. Not worth reading unless you want to look at the sex scenes, and even then it's better to ignore the plot.

6/10 overall, mostly for the art. If this mangaka puts out another work, I'm staying away from it.

The execution makes it so unenjoyable

I personally was bored out of my mind reading this manga and couldn't wait for it to end the entire time lmao. The idea for the story isn't necessarily bad and could actually be pretty wholesome even, but good god did the mangaka totally butcher it with her delivery and turn it into such a cheesy and pointless and uninteresting chore to read. I was practically skimming through the whole thing and couldn't care less about any character from the leads to the supporting cast no matter how tragic their backstory is supposed to be. Another thing that ticked me off is the characters' facial expressions; whether they're being shy or nervous or flustered or amazed they legit only look grumpy/ annoyed and nothing else, it's like they could display no other nuance of emotion whatsoever.

Honestly I expected to have much more fun with this series judging from its cover and it's the actual content that led me down instead lol.

Surprisingly it's not a boring cliche.

Surprisingly this story is good, a lot better than I expected. Looking at the cover you would expect porn and a little bit of storyline as an excuse. Bur there's quite good plot and good execution even through the cover of this book is not promising (to put it lightly). Characters aren't dumb, they are not only interested in making money, they have hobbies and life outside of the club Rainbow. The main character is a burlesque dancer (it's not another story about the host - thank you sensei). There's fast action, yakuza, flashy shows in the club, some secrets about the past of the characters and hot sex, in addition the art is good. Moreover there's a twist in a plot and I didn't expected the story will go the way it went so it's not a predictable shit.

In short - if you like yaoi about mizu shobai and all sorts of entertainers you will like it.
