as the subject line reads, you shouldn't expect anything too out-of-the-box or edgy from this fluffy romcom. to its credit, the setting is a little different, I suppose, and it ends up handling real-world homophobia better than I worried it would. still, the basic plot progression and character beats are very paint-by-numbers; there's nothing here that'll live with you for years to come. if you're in the mood for some manga cotton candy--warm, sugary-sweet, easily-dissolved and finished quick--this might be just what you're looking for.
