Description
Yamada Madoka (♂) loves all sorts of cute things! He grew up playing with dolls, sleeping with stuffed animals, and wearing girl's clothes that his sister made for him! The problem is, other people just don't understand, so when Madoka's family moves to a new city, he commits to acting like a boy at school. But what happens when his neighbor, Tanonaka Itsuki, finds out about his inclinations?!

These kids are so cute and their families are precious this was so wholesome 🥰
Super cute, adorable and heart warming read. I teared up once. Not really mature or realistic, but I enjoyed a lot. A nice, relaxing change from more mature, often depressing and/or violent manga I read.

A manga about transexual & transphobic issues. It would make a good present for a kid with gender dysphoria.
Nice drawings, the shojo trope with flowers blooming around the character's faces is not looking cheesy for a change. A modern manga with a nice sense of fashion & outfits. Afterall, that's what the manga mainly revolves around. Wearing outfits that would normally be worn by someone of the opposite gender & trying to hide it.
The main characters are two elementary schoolchildren that have interests & tastes that are opposite to what kids of their gender usually have. A boy that has girly tastes & looks quite feminine and a girl that's the opposite.
Started quite well but lost steam halfway. The climax ended up being the culture festival school play and I've lost interest right before that. It completely deflated exactly where the meat of the story was about to show. A more serious approach about these issues would have been an appropriate climax. The story plots showed how ho-hum, half-baked they were. The complete absence of backgrounds left a negative impression on me as well.

Visually gracious. Everyone is beautiful and a great deal of attention was given to fashion. It really shows the mangaka loves drawing pretty clothes.
Apart from that... There isn't much else. I couldn't find substance in this, nor realism. The trouble of Madoka and her friend are barely hinted at and depicted under a glossy cover. If you want a relaxing slice of life with gender-non conforming protagonists you will probably like this. But if you look for something more than that, I'm afraid you'll find nothing. That said, it's still nice to have manga that tackles this topic in a "no big deal" way.
