Bad Writing. Meh Characters. Good drawing

I somehow made it through the first 3 volumes hoping this would somehow get better but instead it kept getting worse so here I am.

Imagine a world where every single human being with the exception of the protagonist is a comically evil bastard that makes that distorted evil expression all the time and every single monster is a soulful innocent saint that can do no wrong. This is what the author imagined and it is to the disservice of every single character in the story.

Because every single monster is an absolute saint it makes them come off as extremely one dimensional and you never really appreciate it when you see them do good because you ONLY see all of them being as perfect and good as prince charming.

Because every human except the protagonist is so absurdly evil that it justifies killing any of them on sight it makes all the scenes where the protagonist talks to himself about doing evil by fighting against them silly. And it also makes all the evil things they do not really have any weight to them because if everyone's an over-the-top evil bastard all the time the individual evil stop mattering or having any impact pretty quick.

There's also a lot of scenes with the protagonist crying about how hard his life is because he is ugly but the only ugly thing about his appearance is his morbid obesity and the weird-ish nose. His face looks pretty symmetrical, he has good hair, no scars, if the guy lost some weight he'd definitely have above average looks compared to the humans in his world.

Supporting characters are very one dimensional but fun, while it is dumb that every monster is a saint they do make for some fun little "children being good friends and having fun together" moments. My favorite scene involved an older character showing forgiveness towards the protagonist and that scene would have definitely felt more impactful if we actually saw literally ANY monster blame or criticize the protagonist in ANY way before that happened.

The action doesn't look great and it doesn't flow very well from panel to panel but whenever the characters are only doing simple movements they look very good and have pleasant (although mostly unoriginal) designs.
