The series is on criminals who get away from the law, whether its by going through it and appearing reformed, above it by corruption and manipulation of others using money and connections. These bastards have so far always been heavily sadistic and before the punishment, which is often just a few pages compared to sometimes chapters of their crimes, so before reading be aware:
Heavy, infuriating crimes get plenty of exposition, while their 'reward' is often just a few pages of punishment.
While this series partially satisfies a sadistic sense of justice, the retribution part does not always fulfill expectations and the heinous crimes have so far always left me steaming.
