The main attraction is the chemistry between the ML and FL. I like the idea of two displaced people finding comfort in each other.

But I'm only using chemistry only for the lack of a better word. The ML and FL are too similar in their blandness. They are depicted as too perfect despite being misunderstood, and I never can quite understand how that works out. It is a repetition of people thinking Oh, she will be horrible like rumours say, and then getting shocked that of course she isn't. There are no antagonists or side characters that really stand out. Also it irks me how passive the FL is, how lifeless, and how she seems to have only one expression that can be described as gentle if I haven't seen it too often and am already annoyed by it.

It is a rare gem, where there are healthy relationship between protagonists. They respect each other and actualy talk about stuff other might misunderstand.

IT WAS REFRESHING BECAUSE THERE'S LITTLE MISUNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PROTAGONISTS.

Like the only misunderstanding is people's misconception about both of them.

Art is okay. 6/10. ML is not drawn attractive compared to others work, he looks gentle and you feel safe with him.

Otherwise, this was very new and the couple are wholesome and strong. I'm glad I stumbled upon this even tho other says it's bland.

Better read it as completed rather than ongoing because you might have been bored with the slow pace.

I had to drop this at around chap 14 because I was just utterly bored. It seemed like every negative thing that happened was immediately resolved so I had no stake in it. The FL and ML had no personality which is maybe why they complimented each other well. I can see how people could enjoy this but it wasn't for me

Similiar in many ways, the main leads find love in each other. Both strong mentally and magically, both so in love. I loved the setting, characters (aside the sister which made my blood boil everytime i saw her) and magic. The art was nice, loved the dresses they wore!! And the ending was very well done.

I actually liked the female lead's sister. If we're being real, nothing she says is wrong throughout the series and though she does make many mistakes, it seemed like both of them did actually care about each other early on. She's basically a revolutionist in a point of time where it wasn't suitable to be one. I do feel like the female lead can come off as kinda passive and many of the early misunderstandings between them could have been resolved if they actually had a talk as family. I was actually rooting for her by the end, like, screw these people. She's been caring about the citizens and all of them suddenly start treating her like the plague because they are all incompetent. Like, I'd have made the same choice. Kill them all, I don't care about any of them. None of them gave a damn about the female lead at the start and later on they turn to her sister. They just wanted a scapegoat for their pleasure. It doesn't really end well for her, sadly.

But alas, the series is about the female lead, not her sister. Both the male lead and the female lead have a sort of soothing personality which can also make it seem bland, but I didn't mind. They are calm, collected and slowly fall in love with each other. They do make a cute couple! And the story is essentially about them learning to trust and rely on each other.

I like that typical role for red (that bad witch!) and blond (omg she is angel) haired characters are swapped. This time blond are very like "blonde from jokes" - just glue mirror for her to the bottom of a pool full of water xD.

What is endearing about this series is the frequent motif of characters who are misunderstood gaining confidence and love from others (romantic or friendship) as well as respect. The ML and FL are two individuals who come together in a contract marriage, but set the terms of their relationship in a positive way from day 1, a happenstance that is stereotypically never mentioned in western literature to this degree. That their romance blooms from this friendship and they find solance in each other is a great change after seeing so many FL's troped as too naive vs. an experienced ML who seems all knowing, yet only tells half truths. The straightforward manner by both the ML and the FL keeps them together through the multitude of struggles, both minor and world endangering, that they experience. It's great to see people supporting each other and helping them meet their goals without giving up parts of themselves, and seeing a healthy relationship. My one criticism of the series is that they do tend to overuse the "misunderstood villainess" trope, and I'm not sure if this is meant to reflect the slow pace of gossip in this series (it IS set in a world that is 50% medieval 50% victorian-esque in a European throwback) OR if this was intentionally done to make it seem like the FL won't instantly be accepted. Props for the plot twist that occurs around episode 100 though; was not expecting that about Lilielle!
