Description
From Good Girls Scan BL:

The love letter’s recipient is a female high school student he happens to see on the commute to school, “Hifumi-san.” ---or even though it was supposed to be, Since he read the name wrong, it’s given to Utakane Hifumi-san… the girl’s older brother.

Mishima Kazuhiko is known for aggressive (and borderline, if not outright evil) seme characters, so this was a nice change of pace. Lovey dovey feelings, misunderstandings, supportive friends and family members, all ggood. Her art style seems a little softer in this manga, as well, at least to my untrained eye. A few of the classic sharp, evil expressions she's known for but mostly just cute expressions. Sad it's only one volume, but that's to be expected for BL.
Very different from sensei's other works. And her art style has changed so much since the early 2000s! I like both styles though 🙂
This was a really cute and sweet manga. Nothing very deep, and plot was simple enough, but it didn't come across as cliche or cringey. I enjoyed reading it very much.

Ok, jokes aside, but this is probably the first ever manga I have read of this mangaka in which there's no smut in it (at least, out of the ones available in english anyway), and I am definitely quite pleased with it! I know this author is known for their over-the-top dramatic scenes and, most of the time, freakish romance relationships (crazy/obsessive semes, nonsensical smut scenes, etc lmao), so this was a nice surprise.
The premise of the story was good (I am always in for a fake relationship turned genuine trope \o/) and the art was definitely superb! It was nice to see how much this mangaka's art has improved over the years, because the art in this was simply sooo lovely, the siblings' character designs were particularly my favorites, especially Utakane who was so handsome and pretty at the same time? (I kept pausing to admire him every time he appeared on screen tbh lmao).
But on a note, I have a few cons I want to point out about this story:
The cons aren't exactly all that bad (considering this author's infamous (?) past works lol), so I was still able to enjoy this. It was light hearted and even pure, and I really enjoyed the art!

It was nice to see how much this mangaka's art has improved over the years, because the art in this was simply sooo lovely, the siblings' character designs were particularly my favorites, especially Utakane who was so handsome and pretty at the same time? (I kept pausing to admire him every time he appeared on screen tbh lmao).
But on a note, I have a few cons I want to point out about this story:

- Fast-paced romance on Miike's part: I could understand why Utakane would like Miike, but I couldn't really pinpoint how Miike ended up liking Utakane. It felt like he only started developing feelings for Utakane just because he realized he got noticed and someone actually liked him first instead of the other way around. Bcus Utakane didn't really reveal much about himself that would make Miike fall for him, at least imo.
- Sometimes possessive and forceful behaviour on Utakane's part: well, I know it's a recurring thing in this mangaka's stories that her semes are always possessive, but I was still kinda disappointed when Utakane showed many signs of being possessive towards Miike (I had hoped this manga would be different from her previous works yk), even though they didn't even start officially dating for real yet. Maybe in this author's mind this kind of behaviour is seen as "romantic and heart fluttering", but for me it just screams unhealthy lol
