One day, a boy meets an Android. It was an encounter to know “life”.
2 Volumes (Complete)

It was interesting at the start, but just went downhill from there.
There are better manga out there to spend your time on.
The ending is also just ... wrong ... in so many ways.
This had so much potential, but they just had to take it down the path of maximum disappointment.
At first i thought this was going to be some messed up, depression/PTSD inducing manga because of the title, and the first few chapters were kinda like that... But it ended up being a bittersweet one about "what makes us humans"!
It saddens me that it came to an end with only 12 chapters, it had soooo much potential to either give us some HEAVY depression (with an amazing story), or a bittersweet philosophical story...
Oh well, it was a great read anyways and the ending was kinda satisfatory... Give it a try.
Anyway, it's pretty interesting story, but my contact with the dudes trying to create a being like Lily in real life ruined the technical details for me. Don't get me wrong - the story is touching but knowing about the embodied AI theory ruins the details of Lily's creation and the series ending.
Lily's new incarnation feels somehow wrong, being much too limited compared to her actual personality. The fact that now we have dozens of less self aware and less capable Lily's running around just doesn't sit right with me. I don't have the problem with the numbers, but with the fact that there is no attempt to actually rebuild the Lily we all knew and loved.
Overall it's fine and touching series, but the last chapter could have been so much better it knocks my rating down from 8.5 to 7.
