I truly loved this manga, Nai is one of the most adorable main characters ever, his friendship with the others, mainly Gareki, truly beautiful! Unfortunately the ending is really rushed, You can see that the author wanted to finish quickly, which is a pity...

Beautiful and Fascinating

Tried it out because of the fantastically beautiful art. Got addicted because of the fun chemistry of the characters and ever more intriguing and exciting plot.

Nai is just so darn cute and innocent you wanna squeeze the heck out of him. Yogi comes off a little cloying sometimes but he's just so genuinely NICE you can't help but root for him (and laugh at him) and besides, he gets a lot more interesting when certain things come to light. Gareki is impossible not to like (to tease) and watching him grow and very reluctantly learn to interact with people is fun and interesting. Karoku of course is the source of much of the series' mystery and the more you learn the more curious you get. And the Varuga? Downright FREAKY sometimes, in just the right unnatural, twisted way, without going too far. I've lost much sleep reading this. It's downright beautiful. Lighthearted and innocent, full of dream-like fantasy wonders and nightmares in a world cunningly crafted and filled with detailed and beautiful inventions and special abilities. It's got everything I like.

It s probably the amnesia but god dang the protagonist is stupid. "What's 5 minutes?" Seriously? There's something called innocence, but this is stupidity,...or extreme extreme extreme amnesia.
I don't know if I have the will power and patience to plow through these first few chapters... I dearly hope it gets better.

I'm currently halfway done with whats updated (so basically up to chap 30 ish) and really, the plot is kinda boring me. I read this mostly for the art and the interesting tags. The art is truly breathtaking and I have to say, Yogi looks very much like Gary from IB, right up to the thorns and

silver hair
(am I the only one who thought that?)
Let me just say this...
the only thing that has somewhat captured my attention is
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nai being part niji and Karoku's mysterious back story with Nai

Again the art is amazing and if the plot was more toward what I like then maybe I'd be more intrigued. I'll continue reading for now, and if my opinion somehow changes... then I'll update this... then again, I might be so bored with this that I just never finish reading. It just isn't my cup of tea.

I actually prefer reading the manga to watching the anime. Just because the anime skips all the funny scenes. But the main storyline is still adapted well. The drawing is so adorable! Love Nai and Gareki! biggrin

Karneval really suprised me with it´s plot. I didnt expect much of it at first but I kept on reading because the art is eye catching. Yes the plot is a bit dragging but it is going somewhere and I really like the way it is taking. But the question is... am I the only one who was bawling her eyes out for no apparent reason? It has something to do with the innocence of some characters, it´s just heart warming. I never felt like this towards a manga before. Especially Nai. The artist really did an amazing job in expressing Nais view of his surroundings. And even thought I´m a person for romance the friendship and the platonic love that is going on is refreshing and beautiful. I hope it stays this way. Otherwise I don´t see anything that could go wrong with Karneval. If not for the plot people should read it for the characters. They´re lovely and unique.

The art is really pretty, the uniforms and clothes are well designed, characters have personalities and the story is quite fun to watch... But put that aside, there are too much characters and some of them are quite redundant, not to mention the meaningless POVs and suppose to be touching stories... Uhm, not much for my liking but it's still good I guess...

But not like ForteAtrox, the person I hate the most in this series is Yori, not Nai. Nai is my fav one. Just like you said, Nai is innocent, but he has a reason for that. He is not human, he is an animal, a small and extremelly weak animal to begin with, so what more could you expect an animal to behave? I find him sweet and lovely.

But Yogi is opposite. He is innocent, childish, girly, clumsy, cheerful, emotional... kind to everyone and get scared easily, even more than Nai! I want to tell you that I actually don't find these guys Hatori or Akari hot at all, I've always fond of cute and kid-like guys, but Yogi is just too much. He had cross the line and became really annoying after each chapter. Not the main character, yet he appears sooooooo much, and the shouen ai-ish he give off doesn't annoy me any less . I admit, I like shounen ai, but can not with some unreasonable character like this.

p/s: ah well, I also love Gareki. But who wouldn't tho? smile

well planned

then again I think one difference between shounen series and shoujo or josei is that in shoujo or josei, it (the story) seems more likely to stick to the author's original plan, in which shounen (e.g. jump) the series will be soon canceled once they lose popularity.

so, in all likelihood, I love how the story seems to be well planned by the author and the way the mysteries being unfold one by one neatly
