Three parts
by Sburator
July 31st, 2019, 12:10pm
Rating: 6.0  / 10.0
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The first one is their childhood, for me is the best, besides presenting the story and concepts, it is also the most entertaining.
The second one is were they try to survive at the mall, facing two threats at once and it's almost as good as the first one.
The third is in a larger scale, but this is why it is worse than the other two, this part make less sense, they are not reunited in the most of it and the new characters are unlikable.

Like a zombie apocalypse, but less exciting.

Nothing exciting happens, every mishap is practically telegraphed and there's nothing interesting about any of the characters. Most of the series is just a bunch of clichés strung together, but the worst thing about it s that it has no story to tell, it is simply the same thing done three times without going anywhere.

I honestly thought I would enjoy this seeing that there are the high ratings and reviews here, but I ended up only liking the first arc and skimming through most of the rest. To me, after the first arc, nothing seemed new. Lots of deaths but it was obvious that

all the main characters were going to live and that itself took out the suspense aspect.
Character development was shallow. Thinking back, even the main characters were pretty flat. Some of the disposable characters were annoying actually. Overall, I've read other survival horror series and they all kept me at the end of my seat while this one did not even creep me out.

first survival manga

that i ever read.this manga turn up my survival fetish. when i was reading it i was very captivated with the story, my heart was racing and i skip school just to finish it. when i look back, theres nothing really special about it, the characters are one dimensional, the art is dated, and the survival fight is usually one sided, but i think it is very good introduction to survival horror.

Side Effects: Sleeplessness and Paranoia
by Teesh

Rating: 7.0  / 10.0
When I first read BMN, I finished it in two days. It's a suspenseful horror manga, and it's a good introduction to the survival/horror genre. Do not read if you get scared easily! This may cause you at least five days' worth of sleeplessness nights and paranoia.

Art: Typical of its genre. It's average for me.
Characters: Good character development and nice assortments (for the main characters). As for the side characters, a lot of them die.
Plenty of blood and gore. Not as much as some other mangas in this genre, however.
I thought I should mention that, at least for me, this is the type of manga that you want to read only once. (or only once in a long while) If you finish it, you probably won't want to read it again for a long time.

Like a good horror movie, Highly recommended

This manga as a whole could be about 3 good movies. The only flaws I think of is that sometimes the characters switching seems needless(like introducing green, and the two kids) but it's pretty harmless and green at less, becomes part of the gang(the kids were over competent). And some people might have trouble with the inspirational dialogue at times, it's very hopeful.

That aside, there's constant death in this series. most of japan is wiped out by the end. This is like combining one of those horror movies about rats or birds with a zombie apocolypse movies. The creatures are great, really nasty and ugly like marine life. The original kids progression is pretty good too, in terms of their competency and its all in a realistic setting despite the style.

There's nothing really that good about this ... The plot is the only thing unique really, the rest is just typical shounen! The characters have little to no depth to them, and they really drag some of the arcs....

I just picked this one up out of boredom and I didn't expect too much from it but I stumbled over one of the best shounen/survival mangas out there.
The pace of the manga is just amazing there isn't a single unnecessary filler chapter despite the length of 12 volumes ! The characters may be a bit too shounen-like for some but at least they use their brain, all in all a very enjoyable.

I planned to read this manga just for fun. But what do we have here? I'm stuck with it till the end, unconsciously spending my time for a continuous 4 hours!
Truly an interesting genre, the first one I've read, and also the best one I think. It describes the situations clearly, and just when you thought the author won't have the explanation for the current situation, surprisingly he has. Very, very interesting, and promisingly will give you a satisfaction. Recommended to read.

PS: Currently waiting for "El El" to be completed. Survival horror is my new favorite genre now..

This is the first manga of this kind that I have actually enjoyed. I think it really illustrates mankind's behavior and the lengths we would go to achieve our goals.

Must read for everyone.. not just fans of the "holocaust" type mangas.
