Funny, frustrating, and yet so realistic

I haven't read a good josei in a while, especially one revolving around a woman deep in the corporate rat race.
The relationships between the characters are all incredibly realistic, and the things that come out of their mouths make a ton of sense even when you want to slap them for it.
Realism alone, however, would not be enough for me to like this series. While this series takes the societal issues that a working, divorced woman experiences extremely seriously, you still get great growth and development from all the major characters. The MC in particular is just wonderful. She's competent and confident yet still has some major insecurities. She tries to ask for what she wants, but there are times when she does not have the courage to. Her humanness makes her a character you really want to root for, and not just because she's the main character.
Ultimately, I don't really think this series is as much about romance and sex as it is about confronting yourself and figuring out what you want as society gets harsher and harsher on your choices as a no-longer-fresh-faced woman.
