There is too much going right in this manwha. The character really holding it down is named Jin Mu Won.

One of the best in the genre, but the genre might not be for you.
This is story set in a war torn martial art dystopia as the MC struggles to first survive and then find purpose after being born into the very heart of the conflict and being hurt badly by it. There are few light hearted moments in the series because there is always war and violence just around the corner.
I disagree with anyone saying the MC is overpowered for no reason or that he lacks personality.
The premise is the MC is a genius from a line of geniuses and it took him years of training to become strong.
The MC isn't even particularly OP in practice as he is about as strong or a bit weaker than his real opponents. He almost always struggles in his fights.
Character wise, the series is just subtle, rarely would anyone shout his thoughts or feelings, but it is all there.
The art is good, the plot is relatively complex, but told slowly so it isn't confusing.
Fights are sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Most of them aren't grounded in any rules so you can't really tell who is winning until someone won.
The fan translations of the second season isn't very good, go for the tappytoon version.

Good bones, but bland 2D OP Murim story

If you're looking for a 2D OP wish fulfillment story, you'll probably actually like this a lot.
The main character basically goes from 0 to OP just by reading one scroll and some completely unguided solo "training". Even before the training or even finishing the scroll though, he's shown to be inexplicably strong despite having a weak and untrained body, and it is said that he's inherited the "will" of the also unexplainably powerful only ~100 year old sect that his father was the leader of. Despite not being allowed to study anything except the linguistics of an ancient language, he also somehow magically knows all about the history of the Murim, arcane arts, politics, etc thanks to his solo training without a library or anything? I guess that's not the surprising given that he self-taught himself to be a world class blacksmith.
From there, the main character just trounces 2D cringe baddies on his path following his supposedly moral path. You know he's so great because the baddies keep talking about how great he is, to his face, behind his back, to themselves. The baddies seem to think that he's completely amazing. He frequently acts like a jerk in what's supposed to be a "good" way, but it usually just comes off as cringe. On that note, there is a LOT of cringe...
That said, what it lacks in depth, it kind of makes up for in the beginning with humorous side characters, an interesting setting, some promising plot points, and decent artwork. Unfortunately, none of it seems to go anywhere.
If I hadn't already read too many variations of this story, I'd probably have enjoyed this a little more. In fact, it's not the worst version of the weak orphan boy magically turns OP badass who is loved by all that is good and resented by all that is bad. However, it's pretty bad... I had some hope in the first ~50 chapters, but then it just kind of really leans into the a## pulls and goes a whole lot of nowhere. I finally dropped it around the 120 chapter point.

MC was the son of the previous head of the Northern Heavenly Sect, but they were betrayed and destroyed in a combination attack from inside and outside sources, their main excuse was that the existence of a sect who's sorely focused on protecting the mainland from a single external threat, called the Silent Night was not needed anymore, considering they had gone extinct, or so they claimed.
Anything of value was stolen from other powerful sects who each had their agenda to do so and since the MC was young, they at least spared him since he did not learn any martial arts per see, but they forbid him from ever training it, and since they pretty much ransacked the sect of any martial arts book, they thought the problem was said and done.
Things got quieter after a while, MC was living in a life of poverty, only allowed to practice blacksmithing, and on the regular watch by mercenaries sent by the mainland, until a fateful encounter with a mysterious girl who's somehow connected with his sect's most mortal enemies, the wheels of fate begin to turn for him again.

This webtoon is undeserving of its ratings.
The idea behind the story is complex and I admit that its potential was high but unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the author knew how to show it though.
“Explaining instead of showing”, 2D personalities, no character progression, a clear lack of understanding how to show emotions through art....
As of chapter 57 none of the characters seem like real people... Their actions seem more motivated by “making the story go where the author wants it to” than anything realistic...
as for the main character... if someone asked me to describe his personality, I wouldn’t be able to do it at all. I don’t know what went wrong here but if as a reader, after reading 57 chapters I am still unable to do that, something must have went wrong.
The comic is good enough to make me read it till chapter 57, which is already deserving of a 7... but not anything above that.
I personally wouldn’t recommend reading it.
