Description
Kano Fubuki simply looked too young for his age. That was all well and good, but people found it hard believe that he was a bonafide detective, especially Kagetsuna Daimon, the head of a yakuza group involved in a current investigation. But when Fubuki is kidnapped, he's about to find out that Daimon has more of a personal attachment to him than the criminals.

Noooo! Cry of Excruciating Distress!

I don't know how to rate this one. I'm flabbergasted.

The story, although simple, was compelling. It was all about the story of Mr. Dark and Mysterious and Angry Seme (Daimon) and Mr. Child-like and Innocent and Joyful Uke (Fubuki) and their interactions. Fubuki is so pure and sweet and thankful to Daimon but Daimon hates that Fubuki thinks of him in such a gentle light because he believes himself to be a rough and terrible person.

I adored this story! That is why I am weeping profusely now. WHY, oh why did it end like that? And I use the word 'end' generously and loosely.

Why did Daimon save Fubuki in the past? What were the circumstances surrounding that event? What is Daimon's story with Fubuki's father? Why was he arrested by his father? What changed him from being a punk fighter? Why did Daimon push Fubuki out of the elevator? Or as Fubuki said, 'why did he reject me?' And WTF? Who is that in the last scene? And what did he mean by Daimon being annoying?

The ending was full of questions and half-started sentences. I'm all for unique endings or open-for-reader-interpretation endings, but this one was neither.

I crusied quite a few search engines and after an exhastive search (in ENglish only) I couldn't find any insights. I was looking for an interview with the mangaka or perhaps some comments about this story and where it was headed or what she meant by the ending or if it was continued elsewhere or even if she just dropped it on or lost interest.

But nadda. *Cries.*

well, this was clearly meant to continue, but for some reason that didn't happen (maybe the publisher had no interest, or maybe they actually noticed the similarities with okane ga nai and decided to deep six the project). as to the similarities to OGN; yeah, they're definitely there, but considering that both manga were first published in the same year it might really just be coincidence -- there are differences as well, especially between fubuki and ayase. the artwork is somewhat similar, but more refined in OGN, and that would make it really strange if this were the same mangaka.

i dislike OGN a lot. this one isn't as objectionable, though fubuki has some annoying qualities in common with ayase; he is totally unbelievable as a police detective. and his character design turns me off (i'm just not into children getting it on, and fubuki looks like a girl child). but at least there is no repetitive, obsessive raping here (though i guess there's at least dubcon), and fubuki doesn't protest against it as ayase always does.

but i don't actually like it either. not having an actual ending gets it marked down, and the art isn't particularly good; i wasn't tempted to linger on any panels. i mostly just wanted to get it over with.

okane ga nai pilot with no ending?

first of all, the similarities between this manga and Okane ga Nai are hard to ignore. Is this the same mangaka with different aliases? The artwork style is very similar, Fubuki and Daimon are uglier versions of Ayase and Kanou, it uses the same plot devices in the same way and even the same frame composition (the kidnapping scene in particular). That's not very important, I guess. As for the manga- the artwork was kind of harsh and hurt my eyes at times, the story is stale and uses too many cliches (and I like cliches when they are done right). and while I know Fubuki looking very young is part of the story, it doesn't explain why he acts so young. He simply cannot "pass" as a police detective- he's too young looking, innocent, gullible, verging on dumb.

Worst of all- the manga never got a proper ending. It looks like there was supposed to be more than one volume but it never happened as far as I can tell. Non of the issues are resolved, the couple didn't even fully consummate their relationship, the volume ends with the introduction of a new character... and that's it.

i really have to agree with grumble cakes...this was almost EXACTLY like okane ga nai...i was readin it and i thought it was the same mangaka too... but it appears that this mangaka is completely different from OGN... when i was readin this i can't see fubuki as anything but a child...he acts exactly like how he looks, and it's annoying cuz i expected him to be mature for his appearance...

besides the similarities between two totally different mangas...i think the ending left a lot more to be desired...it can't be completed like that...we don't have the whole story, and not only that, but they introduced a new character in the last panel and just left it at that...there was no love confession, no ending to any problem that was aroused, and fubuki was captured twice...you can't let the same thing happen two times...at least with a series as short as this one...

i think this was going in a good (though not original) direction, emotionally, and i wouldn't mind readin it if it continued...despite the fact that i already read (well...am currently reading) okane ga nai...

The art style, the characters, even the expressions all remind me of Okane ga Nai, not to mention the fact that the story has alot of similarities too, even some of the scenes. I guess its ok but im not sure what the mangaka was thinking. I was disappointed, i didnt want to read an Okane Ga Nai clone, especially one as weak as this. So far theres very little plot line and its predictable.

I agree with all of you. Okane na gai is a way better than this. And the similiarities are shining. Dear mangaka, why left us without a real end? I am so p ... At first I found the story good, but thanks to no ending szene and no end to the love szenes and dropping this story I am annoyed.

Horrible ending!

What a terrible ending! The story starts off pretty good and looks like it has a lot of potential, but then at the end, it just ends abruptly leaving the reader thinking s/he missed a chapter. What kind of ending would end by introducing a new character?! I was so confused. I had to go back to make sure there isn't a volume 2 somewhere. Not a bad manga and I would rate it a lot higher if it actually had an ending Too bad it had to fizzle at the end like the way it did.

bad ending, weak plot, lame start

The ending totally killed my mood. it was so lame, unfinished and completely stupid. *sighs* the story itself is not some thing really great. the personality of uke was kind of annoying, how on earth an idiot like him had managed to become a cop, I wonder. and seme... well, he wasn't that bad except for this fact that as a representative of Yakuza, he was such a softy. ha, it was kind hilarious and not in a good way...

I agree with what other comments have been mentioned about this series, and I wont recommend it to any one unless you have been robbed of all the good Yaoi out there.

i agree with the first reviewer abt the incomplete ending part but since I havent read okane ga nai, I dont know what the similarities are so maybe thats why I gave it higher points smile

I was also left wondering who's the guy in the last page? and flipping back to see if I left anything out but unfortunately thats it. Some new Mr Unknown decides to introduce himself to us in the last panel and since theres no continuation for it... that makes me feel very unsatisfied because they could have had a good story going there.
