Description
Dazed and confused, Chihiro awakes on a pile of garbage with memories of wedding still fresh in his mind. When out of the blue a young man named Keito appears before him. Instantly, he then recalls the night he spent with this person. The booze! The hotel! The punch to his face!

Chihiro may not have a place to call home currently and Keito may not be a good person by any means, but maybe the two of them could be happy together.

Happy Of The End is Ogeretsu Tanaka most polished manga
by Mahk971

I love Ogeretsu Tanaka, she's one my favorite BL mangaka and I can confidently say that Happy Of The End is in my opinion her most polished manga.

The writing is superb, the art style is as usual beautiful, her characters are so complex, nuanced, likable and very endearing (I want to see more of Kaji !) and the combination of drama, slice of life, romance and psychological is so well balanced.
Also she really nailed the sad atmosphere, there is this ominous feeling throughout the whole story that we can't shake off ... but we know Chihiro and Kaito will get their happy ending.

Plus it has one of my favorite trope : 2 broken people going through hardship yet finding solace and comfort in each other, healing together and slowly falling in love while living in cohabitation.
It's similar to one of my favorite BL Dousei Yankee Akamatsu And Seven but it also reminds me of A Stray Dog In The Night, Yatamoto and One Room Angel.

I already bought vol 1 and 2, now I'm patiently waiting for volume 3.

excited to get my hands on volume 2

Emotional hooks got me good, this feels quite different from the few other works I read from Tanaka-sensei (those sadly didn't grab me as much). Pretty excellent execution! Both leads are interesting and their relationship is rather complex. Our unlucky dumbass is very lovable.
I'm getting vibes of something right out of Harada's book lol
The train tracks scene was simple at a glance, but SO GOOD. Smut hot art good, nothing mind-blowingly unexpected in that department, has some surprisingly funny and tender moments.

It checks all the boxes AND the translation is good???

I read a chapter or two before the official English was available, and I'm SO glad I got a copy when it released. The translation/writing really kicks this up to a 10. The pacing of the story is also a strong point. Time passes smoothly and nothing feels rushed. In spite of the dramatic events and circumstances, it all feels very realistic.

It already has all of my favorite tropes, so it's a delight to see them all well-executed: lovable dirtbag down on his luck, a healthy dose of painful backstory, complicated feelings, a dash of suicidal ideation, but overall a sense that things might eventually be okay. Though, who knows what will happen in volume 2!

There's also some high quality exicit content, though it isn't as central to the story as I expected. Good stuff.
