Read till chapter 60s

To say that this series is like One Punch Man is a misunderstanding of what this series or even OPM is about.
The MC is a maniac for magic. He got killed by nobles who despised him for being a commoner trying to learn magic which he couldn't succeed at cause magic in this world is very class based and if you aren't basically born a noble you can barely use magic.
The MC, even in his dying moments does not detest the nobles but instead is not even paying attention to them but rather towards their magic which he calls beautiful as it kills him.

Then he gets reborn as a noble and is now capable of using magic.
Cue the rest of the manga.

Its not like One Punch Man where the story is about this guy who reaches the pinnacle but what next.
No, this manga is about how like stealthily psychotic the MC is. He doesn't have morals or attachments or feelings any more than what would help him in his pursuit of magic, going to whatever lengths necessary, thoughts about morality or decisions are not even in the picture. His helping people is a side effect of him being curious about what new things they can possibly teach him.

Absolutely a great read. Btw its very comedic and the art style absolutely fits the darkest moments as well as the comedic innocent ones or the slapstick moments.

I actually find it really hard to believe this great work is written by the same guy who did "The Mage Will Master Magic Efficiently in His Second Life" which is a second rate work at best

The main character started off okay but became plain unlikeable. By Ido arc I can’t stand him anymore. Dropped.

The art is the first thing of note, particularly because the battle scenes are very good and almost everything else is dynamic. The girls are pretty, the grown men are decent, and the younger guys... are girls. For some reason this artist can't seem to draw younger guys, so they draw young female bodies doing adult female poses. And the main character is one such character. It's a bit disturbing, to be honest.

The various subplots that happen around the main character are average, which for OP isekai stories, means it's above average. It's no "That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime" but it's consistent and well paced.

The fight scenes are incredible set pieces, and those alone could make a worse story readable.

But the main character's personality... I feel like there's something missing. They aren't bad, just incomplete. At first their kind of empty personality is funny, but the longer it goes on, the more I dislike it.

Anyway, I don't know what to think about the manga as a package. There are pros and cons, and they don't really meld together, so they remain distinct. I guess that makes it more memorable?

Oh well, it's one of the decent isekai; just a bit empty.

This is a really enjoyable story. It features solid writing, a fun cast of characters including an overpowered character who can stomp everyone but is nonetheless enjoyable to read about (this is not an easy feat of writing!), really enjoyably depicted action sequences (e.g. there's one chapter that consists entirely of a non-stop sword combo), great use of color (often the pages are in black and white while the magic is in color), some genuinely emotionally compelling sequences, and so on.

Downsides: In later arcs the side characters get more time to shine, which is fine because they're fun enough, but slows down the pacing. Call that the One Piece problem. Also, there's lots of fan service which I personally don't care for. And most damningly, the friggin' volumes, which you'd expect to be the best version of the story, are in black and white. So they lack all the great color usage, and the lower contrast makes some scenes much harder to parse, especially busy action sequences.

It's real nasty. But if you're into kids it's probably great. (IMO)

Best reincarnation manga that I remember to have read, yes better than the slime one, the magician one and to even another variant which is the overlord one.

Also, among OP MCs, even though the personality and development is not fully consistent and there are some confusion due to flashbacks which involve many chapters ago, this MC has one of the most unique characteristics among all the series and movies I've read and watched (a few hundred I guess).

I really like how the story develops, with a lot of the side characters and former enemies still being relevant in future chapters, and although the MC is OP, there are actually a lot of plausible and interesting enemies, not just strong and stronger enemies which seem to sprout out of nowhere just for the MC to encounter and fight. A lot of the enemies have actually appeared earlier and became stronger over time and affected a lot of other things before they encounter the MC.

And most of all, I like how the MC tries stuff despite being very bored due to how strong he is (similar to saitama in OPM, and this is actually very true in real life, when people reach a pinnacle and realise there is no comparable rival or opponent, thus things gets boring).

...But it ends up being a generic ecchi ,with an overpowered MC and randomly looking for any excuse to put the MC or any female character nude.

If you like this genre it's probably great since the art is quite good (not too consistent). I even like how he draws the muscles and the body sometimes.

Its pretty repulsive how they put the over-sexualized female traits on the mc that's a small boy.( big curved hips /absurdly small shoulders) .They probably just ripped the body off another manga and then said it was a "boy".

Any sign of female intomamcy, he rejects (which was gunny at first, but is so annoying)
