Description
From MangaArt: The first story "Magic" is set in the futuristic 2200's at the edge of the galaxy. Super model Kana has died in a space ship accident when she traveled to a planet on the edge of the galaxy. Her daughter was found 3 years after the magnetic storm has rested. A distant relative of Kana's adopted the young child, who was a former boyfriend of Kana's. Years later, Kana's child has grown up to be a teenager. In the second story "Silence" is set in modern Japan. A teenage boy is seeking revenge for his brother who was murdered by gangsters. He rides on his bicycle, approaches each of his enemy and then pulls out his pistol. No one is supposed to find out but someone notices him.
The two oneshots are amazing!! I cried for the first one because it was really touching and sad when you learn the truth about Kana.
The second oneshot is like a thriller and how the girl tries to stop him from committing a crime. Interesting and I thought he was being hired by someone to be a hitman (I didn't read mangaupdates summary).
Now, the oneshots in this volume were a much greater improvement over the Jack&Elena oneshots.
I especially liked the first one. It was all very sci-fi and dramatic, but if you get past those points down to the romance, it's actually very interesting. Kinda reminiscient of Millennium Actress:]
The second one was more relatable. It was like a school thriller, and it was tied up pretty decently. But I felt that it lacked a sort of deeper meaning that the first one had.
Still, it was pretty good, and it's throught-provoking, which is always a plus.
