There are way too many flaws and boxed reasoning. If the dam golems are so slow, there shouldn't have been so many deaths ,and some made of gold or diamond , on the first month they would totally be exploiting them , with people from all over the world flocking over.

As portrayed, it would be way too easy demolishing the with excavators or making them fall into pits. Why would they use guns if they're so inefficient (similar yet simple reasonings are completely discarded by the author).

Even if you forgive how the author applies game logic whenever he wants, almost all the elements are too inconsistent. Most elements that make the plot advance have brain dead reasons .As you read you can think of 50 reasons of why what the're doing is a bad idea or why it cannot be done/easily done better. For example the disaster area si supposedly out of bounds but, plot-wise it's totally ok if there are loads of unarmed civilians inside.
