they obviously lost the meaning when they turned the novel into a webtoon. it was all a mistake - the fact that I started reading this, the fact that this even exists

The comment made by Noobzilla made me realize why I was enjoying this story in the beginning, yes, it is like the shoujo version of Cheese in the Trap, and I LIKED IT A LOT. But then, in this story the misunderstanding between the characters grows and grows and everything seems absurd because, even in Cheese in the Trap, the misunderstanding was more, well, understandingly.

There, the FL knew nothing about the MC and vice versa, but as time goes on we see how things happen and how prejudice is born between them, and is believable.

But in this story, it's just ... MAN, FL, PLS THINK. You have been with ML all your life, yes, he did some shit even in his childhood, and most of the time he was not being a good friend (and he had reasons for that, which is not an excuse, but is again, understandable. ) Still, if you only THINK and really analyze the situation, you could at least have some doubts about "Is he really bad?"

Of course, ML does not help the situation, with, not talking and explaining things, but he is like that, due to the environment he grew up in, he is afraid to speak the truth and with this, lose FL's trust and friendship. Everything is really a mistake, but it's on such a, so unrealistic level in my opinion.
Besides, Alice and Aaron don't really help the situation. I just can't seem to like Alice. Yes, I understand her and her fears, but I still can't agree with how she acts and how she's turning FL against Nocton without trying to understand?

IDK, this review is a mess of my emotions.

Aaron is also a coward who looks like he doesn't know what to do with his life, his problems could be solved very easily if they just talked. I don't like to be comparing, even if I'm doing so...but again, in Cheese in the Trap, even why they couldn't just sit and talk made sense (due to the fact that FL was ignored several times when starting a conversation, here Aaron had so many opportunities to talk to Alice and explains, yet he don't, and end up using the FL for his owns selfish reasons.)

I also find FL a bit hypocritical in many ways, first for the reasons of becoming friends with Nocton, these being, avoiding her own death, but then also for criticizing him when HE IS trying everything to stay alive, even doing some gray moral acts. And really, really, I can't understand how she can't see that he was not being loved in that family because ... well, she knows, but 😕?

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
in the flashback in which he is sick because of the holy water, we see that she realized that his mother was making him a little nervous. She even tries to help and that leads Nocton to do the hypnosis that, HE DIDN'T WANT TO USE, even though he was suffering a lot, that was his last resort.

And again, his promise to not kill anyone, because of FL is just ... so pure. Idk, please, someone give this guy therapy and lots of love. IT'S JUNG ALL OVER AGAIN, BUT WITH SHITTIER PARENTS.

Overall, I really like this series and the twists and turns of the story. But, we are in 30 chapters and things do not seem to develop. We are in a circle of blaming Nocton repeatedly ...
I will continue to read, but I think I will wait for more chapters to come out first.

Too many misunderstandings, I'm out

I just don't like any of the characters. 99% of all the problems the 4 main characters have would go away if they just talked it out. The FL has 0 capability of reading other people, the ML is a psycho, the best friend is kinda boring and the best friend's love interest is a complete pushover who walks headfirst into every danger. Way too many panels are spent on the male characters thinking about what they would do for their respective love interests so the plot just stagnates. We see the same thought process over and over again in all the MCs: "What is xx thinking when they do yy?" JUST ASK THEM FFS.
Art is decent but nothing special.

Translations are messy

I second the comment made by noobzilla. The story and pacing is alright, but I find myself confused most of the time. The subject of some statements are unclear and the translations are not fully coherent, making it so difficult to understand what's going on most of the time.

A shoujo version of Cheese in the Trap. This story has a lot of potential. Now that there is a licensed version we don't have to get confused by the terrible fan translated version which made very little sense. Overall the story gets a 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Art: The men very well drawn. For some reason the men are much hotter and better looking than the females even the FL and fake-FL in this story. Overall, I give the art a 9/10 [because who cares about the women].

Story: I like the plot twists and the tension. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and the FL and ML interactions are interesting because of the misunderstanding and the tension (Yeah I like it, you may not). After reading too much fluff this is a nice change of pace. I did knock a few points off because a lot of misunderstandings could have been avoided if ML was a bit more honest as a child. I still don't see a good reason not to confide in FL.

We can see from the start, that everyone treated him badly even his parents, that's why he needed to be careful of trusting fl since he can't see her thinking, from ml's perspective, I don't think he's wrong but like the title there're misunderstanding between leads, and I don't even know if Aaran will fall in love with her that'll create love triangle? But i hope Alice never changes her mind and try to break their relationship,if she can be with Aaran that'd be great too.

Mind blowing

SERIOUSLY Y'ALL NEED TO READ THIS.

Even though the comments was not good BUT THIS IS A GEM AMONG GEMS THAT ONLY A FEW PEOPLE KNOW THE REAL WORTH!!

The story itself is mind blowing!! The villain is scary!! Don't mind the weird description! I got goosebumps when more episodes/chapters was revealed, especially when it comes to Nocton.

The twist about the tea, Nocton, Aaron, and Alice was mind blowing. The original novel that was described in the story itself was mind blowing, I thought this was a normal romance manhwa just like any other villainess stories BUT BOI I WAS WRONG!

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It was more mind blowing when the MC drank the memories potion, and it was revealed that the ML from the original novel was not the ML. I can't believe that **ron is the original ML! The story was a bit complicated because of the mind blowing twist. But it was good

At the first read, it was hard to read it because of the complicated pacing where the past and the present were told at the same time. But it was worth it.
