Description
After touring America in an attempt to start a new life, Heesoo boards a plane back to her homeland of Korea.
She soon realizes that it is not so easy to escape her unfortunate destiny when the plane spirals out of control and she is warped to a strange world that is distant from Earth and full of zombie-like creatures called “maenok.”
Luckily enough, she is unintentionally rescued from a dire situation by an elegant and refined gentleman named Calix Clovis, who possesses the mysterious ability to wield a blue flame that can kill the maenok.

Stupid. Rushed. Full of loser characters; that sacrifice basic decency and twist their actions for a perverted sense of affection (and it's the NOT SEXY WHAT-SO-EVER kind of twisted). An unhealthy shame of a waisted story, that could have had promise.....The best part of the entire thing was the congratulation on completion artwork at the end.
The story started off with an interesting premise. The relationship between the two was slow to develop but was clear. The story then goes into long flashbacks that took over several chapters to provide background. The relationship suddenly takes an odd turn and then the ML is suddenly obsessed with FL? Climax and resolution pretty much was the last 2-3 chapters. The ending was done poorly and abruptly. It felt more like an ending to season 1 than the entire series. Too many loose ends that were left untied.

this really ended fast with a shity end.
FL is very irritating. I find the choices she makes/what she does very irritating. Not just because she's weak, also her lack of communication despite already knowing the language. She always out of it.
The narrative is really dumb. FL doesn't know how to talk and somehow learning that is nt net priority which really infuriates me
If you can pass the first 30 chapters, it gets better. Now I'm starting to enjoy it lol.
There is not a single male character (other than the male lead) that does not attack the female lead with the intentions of sexual assault. The world-building is interesting, but there's not a lot of it.
This series isn’t rlly enjoyable for me. If I wanted to consume media about sexual assault, human depravity, & the extremes to which ppl are willing to go for survival, I’d read nonfiction or watch a documentary. The fictional romanticization of human suffering is just icky for me, personally. Especially when it’s packaged with hetromance & sexist tropes.

Yeah. Just not my thing. & i can’t help but note one of the authors also created “Beatrice” which also features sexual assault, & other forms of gender-specific threat/violence. 👀

- excluding one complacent character & the ML (2 total), every other male character attempts to sexually harass and/or assault the FL
- seriously. TW: multiple r*pe attempts from multiple different men
- FL cannot speak the language & learning words is apparently not one of her priorities
- FL acts as if functionally mute. Communicates by just smiling cutely or nodding (feeds into the infantilizing/weak image she’s going for)
- FL ingratiates herself with the (naive) ML by literally throwing her body at him. Forces a kiss on him
- FL’s 1st response to danger is to freeze & flinch, though she does clumsily/ineffectively try the “flee” thing a couple times
- FL is completely & utterly at the ML’s mercy when their “romance” begins
- FL’s defining traits are her looks, her lack of communication skills, her willingness to use her body as currency for survival (with the ML), & her inability to defend/support herself
