One day, Yukisada confesses his affections to Komaki, but immediately following this, Komaki's grandmother dies and she has to move away. They both manage to keep in contact for a while by writing letters, though Komaki stops writing around the time of the high school entrance exams. When Yukisada enters high school, he becomes concerned with one of his female classmates named Hiroka Sōma. In junior-high, Hiroka was constantly bullied, which would cause her to stay home, eventually causing her to become isolated and helpless. Yukisada chooses not to ignore her like most of his other classmates, and instead starts encouraging her and helps her to build her self-esteem. Before long, Hiroka falls for Yukisada, and one day confesses her love to him. During this time, Yukisada has kept in contact with Komaki and has mentioned Hiroka in his letters. Thereupon, one day after a long time, a letter arrives from Komaki to Yukisada asking who exactly is Hiroka.

well for 1 thing open endings in mangas wholly based on romance kinda sucks..........
as for adachi mangas...they have sports as side dish so people can read on........
but a manga based totally on relationships shud have a clear ending,...thats what i feel...
well a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush......that's what i go by.....
apart from that this is a disapointment (comparatively )coming from the author of tora dora which left me speechless throughout with witty jokes and realistic undertones......it isnt even half as entertaining as that.....and male lead is typical harem-useless + good heart + innocent type which i have come to despise.....after all there is only so much u can tke of a same chracter prototype being used again and again

I liked the character's very much, not unique by any standards, but still well-designed, and the story was great One thing I like is the fact that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Yukisada admits he fell in love with both then saying he was clueless... though this also did bother me cause I didnt know who I wanted him to end up with.
As for the ending, unlike the other comments, I pretty enjoyed it, and thought it was the right one. (Though, if it were to continue, I'd like a slightly more comedic storyline, but what can i do? xD) Overall a 7.4!!!yeah

at least there was a conclusion. 3 main characters+the "extra" was pretty well developed considering the scheme of things. Would have been nice to be longer, but i guess theres always a limit/downside to shorter manga's.
Still, enjoyable.

It's a good read. The characters are pretty well-done, albeit the first girl's attitude......is kinda unreasonable, even for an unreasonable person.
I like the 'Ice Queen' (seriously? She acts more like Tsundere to me; it's the exact opposite of an ice queen), because later she acts very human, probably the most human from the three.
The plot seems rather prolonged, tho. And the ending....It's not the open aspect of it that I hate, but the apparent future.....

loved the manga all the way till the end, the story was endeering, i liked the art style, the characters were likable. but the ending .. well you could say what ending ... i hate wasting my time on mangas that dont have an ending. there was no concusion. i gave this an 6 simply on the basis of the ending, if it had of ended i dont care how it would of got a 9 or higher from me
if you like stories that have some semblence of a conclusion dont bother with this manga.

This looked good... but it should have been longer. Like Elfen Lied, the plot was squished into less chapters than it should have and the character developement suffered due to this.
While everyone moans when a series goes into "filler" it is essential for developing the characters, endearing them to the readers and giving you a better picture of their personalities and what they are likely to do when put into these situations...

so indecicive.. Come on, nothing , really not a hint to a conclusion. That's just awful.
I really liked the story and the characters (especially the ice queen) but I can only give it an 8 because of it's ending. If not for it easily a 8.5 or a 9

It started out pretty enjoyable and was good/decent throughout most of the volumes. However, the ending was one of the most cliffhangeresque, most unconclusive and most unsatisfying endings one could possibly imagine. The author didn't even pull the classic Deus Ex Machina, the manga just ended with _nothing_ happening.
nice one

just read this series this afternoon, and i just finished a while ago, hm...so i think i have to write my comment here.
actually it started really nice and made me curious for the next chapters.
but somehow, after some chapters i felt it was just going flat.
really this manga could be developed more.
about the ending,
i think it's better to let it be like that, so the readers can imagine any possible continuation as they like, rather than a one-sided ending that only satisfy one side and disappoint the other side of fans.
really it would be hard to choose, even though i personally like the ice queen, but i think it would be hard to not choose the mysterious girl too.
so, i think the author want to tell us that, which girl tamura would choose is up to the reader.
so i think the ending was fair and impartial.

*My rating scale is out of 5.
Hmm. What a peculiar manga. I was thinking that it was going to go a whole lot longer but with only 20 chapters (usually only worth 2 volumes), there wasn't enough time to flesh out the characters or the plot. Things proceeded too quickly plot-wise without any characterization and it left a numb aftertaste of dissatisfaction. The first several chapters were a great introductory, but afterwards, everything fell flat. Characters were suffering and I felt nothing at all -- no sympathy, no sadness, nothing -- because there was not enough story to get attached to them. And then things proceeded quickly to a second girl and quickly concluding afterwards -- the ending being its only saving grace.
Matsuzawa's action and thoughts for the most important plot device of the story was incomprehensible and unrealistic to me, and that's where everything went to shambles for me. She stakes the most important things in her life into bets and an attitude of let's see what will happen if I do this? Huh!? What!? And she does this twice! Incomprehensible, I tell yah.
Oh yeah, one last thing. If there's a girl who says: "I'll always be on your side." and another girl who says:
And one more, to kill off the last kitten. Souma isn't really an Ice Queen, is she? She was one for maybe 3 days... and that was it! Can't really call a person like that an Ice Queen. Maybe, Wannabe Ice Queen? Or really, A Normal Girl.
