Description

Tanya Artemiciov is a talented Mage-class adventurer who just got kicked out of her party by a sexist scumbag. So what's a girl to do? Go to the wasteland and blow stuff up of course!

Good but unnecesserily hateful

I like the art and the comedic moments are nice. I do recommend reading it. The start is pretty meh though it gets so very much better with time and the ending is simply great. The main couple is super duper cute and the secondary couple is disgusting and insane. This will contain spoilers so hiding it though I'll try not to ruin and avoid name or character descriptions. "Should be safe before reading"

My biggest annoyance is that one badguy(woman) is terrified for her life, like actual violent death fear combined with drawn blood from another woman. Though when later the one doing it comes to check up on her, she then falls instantly in love with this woman. So if your abuser (physically and mentally) says sorry and ask if you are okay you get wet? fuck that. She is portrayed cute though she's actually straight up a murderer and the most interesting charachter.

I enjoyed it though as previous poster said it's definitely hamfisted xD I keep loosing immersion from the very very realistic problems of sexism when every problem ever is only sexism and only if it's done by a male in some absurd way. It's completely ignored when it's done by women to women and you then just get standard-'beat up bad guy join harem instant bff bs'. Murder, imprisonment, torture etc is not that bad, not really worth mentioning though do not fucking say "bcs woman". Reversed effect instead of highlighting how insidious the problem is. However it does have some VERY satisfying empowerment scenes and revenge moments are golden.

This is not specific whine against this piece, I do rather take this any day over some pathetic "just a normal japanese highscool-boy hero". It does however remind me of how much I wish there was a "target audiance" in-between; any fantasy that wasn't either 100% helpless women or 100% evil men while still bringing some realistic representation of different sexualities.

The only highlighted problem that isn't really a problem based on sexism is... this is spoiler:

The guy that kicks her becaus of sexism as the title says. He's just a narcissistic complete fucking idiot, he fucks over anyone regardless of sex and apparently cheated on every single thing in his adult life x'D He did not kick her because sexism, he kicked her because they where childhood friends and he got an extreme inferior complex against her. She was top of her class, he could not even pass and hired someone to take his test x''D I mean common...He was probably also in love with her as young and turned bitter though he states often that she should get a (another)husband.

TLDR summary:

It's a worth read just for the good revenge, both the funny kind and the dark kind combined with the cute shenanigans of the main coupling. The fantasy and art is nice and even though there is no real focus on worldbulding other then sexism there still is a very interesting world that we get snippets of through statements about sexism. The later half is a lot better and it does get better and better up til the very great ending.

I feel like the secondary story of the third lead character wasn't completed/tied up at all and weirdly unhanded for the most part. Not talking about left in a "open ending"-kind of way, no. It just simply very badly avoided doing anything with some big plot surprises and as soon as we got to know about it; had no impact on anything through-out the story. which makes me sad since its my personal favorite character. I'll give it 7,4 not really enough for 8.

A rarity among fantasy manga, this manga starts out a little rough but goes strong with a good message for women. Its feminism is a admittedly a little hamfisted but still enjoyable and I recommend reading for anyone who likes the "kicked from a party" formula but wants something a little different.

I don't hate the trope of when the main character gets kicked out of the hero party/adventuring group but i do hate it when the reason for kicking them out is bad... In this manga the reason is terrible, the reason is, dun dun dun... sexism!!!... the main character gets kicked out of the party because the guy don't want women in his party... first of all, how gay is this guy? am i right?... and second, the main character clearly is talented so there is even less reason to kick her out... i quit reading after the first chapter.
