Clevatess is a mild to moderate dark fantasy story with central themes focusing on second chances, redemption, and rising above one's misfortune to meet the challenge of living. It isn't Tolkien, but it's solid and earnestly written fantasy. It doesn't rely on canned tropes like videogame logic, and it doesn't trade plot for fanservice. It's just an earnestly told story with fairly well thought through characters. Clevatess is a reasonably complex and curious character, hardly a just a beast. And Alicia is a strong and determined person who is easy to root for. The party member introduced later is also a treat. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone who's tired of typical videogame influenced fantasy, or isekai fantasy. It's solid execution of a more traditional fantasy style, with an atypical plot formula - it's not a plot formula that I've seen done to death (e.g. defeat the demon king), which is a good thing. On the whole, it just feels incredibly fresh. But it doesn't just owe its appeal to its context. It's legitimately good. Give it a try.

This series is one of the best story from the author, i think i follow Iwahara sensei from Koudelka, Dimension W and Ibara No Ou but i really hope Clevatess didn't become like those, interesting at the start but failed at the end. So far the story plot is strong, the world is unique and the mc have the reason not to be hated by readers but not very likeable too for now. This series can become big at the future as long as it stick to this atmosphere and the author not wreck this by add unnecessary character or comedy to light the story but all of that i'm curious what will clevatess do at the end of the story, did he learn humanity and save the world or just destroy it....

I am amazed by the author's ability to make any premise feel like a garbage-tier light novel adaptation. Incredible.
