Ch 1-4 arent even worth reading. Art is ok. Sex is too short to actually be hot or have any other feels to it. Very Shallow. Ch5,6,7,9 are Ok though. Every ch is short and boring/cliche.

Except, I didn't read the first story, but my rating is pretty high and its for all the stories combined. At first I didn't get it and I didn't like the stories, but I started to get the gist around the fourth story. I think I started to appreciate them more knowing that they're all short, to the point, and sometimes even dark. Some of them are even sad. It's not the usual cheesy, fluffy yaois and that's why I'm kind of drawn to them. I hate the stories, but I also love them.

Much of the other reviews are pretty spot-on, but I figured I'd add my two cents because despite all it's flaws, I still enjoyed this collection of one-shots. I guess I'm a little biased because I really like her art and the fact that all her characters are beautiful bishonens. You won't find any of those short, small, boyish uke in this collection. Just a lot of beautiful men **happy spew** Not to mention she veritably goes through a checklist of my favorite type of romance/yaoi tropes (cop/yakuza, salarymen, best friends, rivals etc.)

Like some have mentioned already, there's not much to complain about when it comes to the art, but many of the stories left much to be desired. Most of them averaged around 20 pages, which is pretty short for a one shot anyway. The manga-ka struggled to set an even pace with some of her stories. Some of them worked, and some of them felt rushed or abrupt - a problem that most all one-shots suffer from anyway (which is why I usually avoid reading them, but one shots are impossible to avoid in yaoi). However, I felt many of the stories could have been vastly improved had she chosen to focus writing four or five one shots like she did for Tsuki ni Hoero instead of the nine she has here. Tsuki ni Hoero was a more satisfying one shot collection, IMO.

I think my favorites were probably 4 - Water Bed, 5 - Poker, and 6 - Cage; with 2 - Vertigo, 8 - Everything's for your Sake and 9 - The Sweet Poetry being pretty okay too. Cage (story 6) probably had the most emotional setup and could have used a second or even third chapter. Poker (story 5) would have been a favorite of mine if the ending hadn't been so open-ended. I'm a sucker for opposite side of the tracks romances. The first story would have been more appealing had the uke not been so close-mouthed about his feelings and if the story had been fleshed out over the smut.

Despite it's flaws, it was a fairly easy read and it has a high re-read factor for me. I would love to read more of her works if they ever get scanlated. One of her other series has been licensed and she's already got one customer in line biggrin

Okay the art is really pretty, the guys are hot.
But the stories seem super shallow, there's no depth whatsoever and they feel disconnected and incomplete. Some of them are just confusing.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The first one starts nice but as soon as they see each other again it gets just weird. The seme forces him to stay and the uke keeps saying he wants to go to the instructor guy... and it's unanswered now whether or not he did sleep with the old man to protect Maki, if they even like each other? Whaaa? And they move in together after 3 days, lol...
Chapter 3 I don't understand at all... who is that guy now, and he just randomly rapes the boy and the boy then holds him back saying don't leave? WAY RANDOM!
The 4th chapter... it's not bad and I like the sex scene in the poor, there's not enough of those out there, especially while wearing suits and all haha! But there's too much struggle for my taste. The uke keeps saying no and all the seme says is "hey I can't move if you don't relax"... sounds too much like non-con to me... the plot is not important....
The next story I also dunno what's going, who the seme is and why he gives the drugs they meant to secure to him and then rapes him...hmm... well it seems some of these oneshots really only live for the smut.
The chapter 6 was kinda sweet, and I like the open ending, but it's at the same time pretty gloomy and disturbing.

The story I liked more was chapter 8 because it's the only one making sense but still, the plot seems very incomplete like there's just so many questions that never get answered.
The last story is good too.

None of the stories is outstanding, every one of them has confusing parts or errors that make no sense, rape is easily forgiven.
If you don't mind that, then you might enjoy!

Some stories feel incomplete and I was left with a lot of questions e_e But I guess it's a ok read, there are some cute stories there.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
1st Kinda blah D: The guy kept wanting to go back to the perverted old guy's house.
2nd It has an ending that leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
3rd The third was ok.
4th Again the ending feels unsatisfying, what happens with both of them? Do they meet again?
5th O_O OMG WTH? Why does it end that way? Does he get better? Does he die? Does Miyoshi get sick too? D: It was getting so interesting and then it suddenly ends >.>
6th Umm
7th Was better.
8th That was a nice one, I liked it.

The art was great, and the characters were good, but the plots all felt a bit rushed and unnatural.
Despite that I finished them all, and they make for a fairly enjoyable read.

the art is one of the better ones i've seen but the stories must be some of the worst i've read. The other works by this mangaka are much better than this one.
I too was confused with the first story. why did he sleep with the old guy and what was that story about? i dont get it

Even though most of these one-shots contain rape scenes, its still very sweet. Chapter 6 (Cage) in my opinion is the best! Even if you don't read the other one shots in the manga you still have to read this one! Everytime I read it, it wrenches my heart, its a bittersweet tale. Also read Chapter 9 (The Sweet Poetry). Even though it has a very rough s*x scene, the ending is very heartwarming.
