A catchy sci-fi drama about curiosity, discovery, and the struggle to fit in! Kobolt lives together with his mother on a small island where the inhabitants survive on agriculture with help from giant tortoises. Everyone feels that they fit in with their relaxing everyday lives in the quaint village, with the sole exception of Kobolt's grandfather, who is the island's greatest inventor, and never puts a crazy idea to rest. A fateful day Kobolt and his dear friend Linnea explore his grandfather's inventions on their own. They lose all control and an explosion occurs. Kobolt's legs are mostly damaged and the young inventor has to spend his life in a wheelchair.
