Not a masterpiece, but close.

I wont lie: i thought it was going to be ecchi in most of the chapters (there are some lil shot here an there) but the main focus doesnt goes for the meat: there is some story to learn, there is some mysteries to solve, there are some ass to kick and we just run out of chapters... Da heck if i shed a tear when found out this serie was "cancelled" (in the info says in hiatus, but have been more than 2 years now... I STILL HAVE FAITH HOWEVER!!!)... Its not good to see works that have potential going to waste... i mean What does To love-ru has (aside of the oceans of ecchiness every page) that this work doesnt to keep alive? Meh, too much ecchi at some point will bore you, and always believe Story > Ecchi... or Deathnote had that many ecchi to be that popular?.
Anyway, not perfect, kinda "generic", but it has a something that could make it remarkable.

A really mediocre shounen

There is nothing particularly good or bad about this series. The action scenes are acceptable but not memorable. The plot development is uneven, with the different factions clearly hastily made up instead of done with planning. The character are nothing special, the villains are pretty bland and the heroes aren't interesting either. There is no focus in the series, the author just adds characters when the plot is dragging instead of developing her old ones. But still, its not bad. The illustrations are above average and occasionally the protagonist will learn something. In the end, its just acceptable. Read it if you like shounen but I'm dropping it at chapter 38. Its going nowhere fast.

A well balanced series

The action is balanced and complemented by the drama. The romance is well maintained while the supernatural aspect builds the foundation for a well paced story. I recommend this series for anyone looking for something good to read.

Could be good, right now mediocre

Has a few interesting ideas. The art of many of the side characters is good, but the main lead is often drawn very cartoonish in the beginning and doesn't match well with others art wise. This gets a bit better as it goes on. Humor at times seems to be a bit forced and seems awkward. One of the strengths is that they have expanded the number of groups involved in the story line and not limited to the hunt for cursed items. However, quality of story drops as it goes on, because it doesn't know if it wants to be a shounen or seinen series. We get typical dumb shounen stuff like character who doesn't want to cut anyone with their blades, because "cutting people is bad", sniff sniff (sarcasm). Even when those people might already be dead. The living blades even come up with a solution like hey if we break a few bones of the possessed humans and take away the cursed items then everything will be ok, right. But no because "hurting people is bad", too. Give me a break. This is labeled seinen, but has the bad stink of a juvenile shounen series. Not all shounen is bad but some are definitely better than others and the qualities this series borrows from shounen is definitely more unrealistic. I'll give this a few more chapters to see if it can claw its way out of this hole. For its decent art and ideas I give it a 7, subject to change if it gets better or worse.

Not only action , also drama

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I found chapter 18 to 21 quite interesting. First , I thought Kandachime is just typical seinen-martial art-ecchi manga, but the tragedy factor gives the spice on it. The death of a well-build-character who only appears in 4 chapters really surprise me.

Getting Fun

It's getting fun. I want to see next chapter. It's been a long time to see such manga like this one for a while. Like some hardcore manga readers would have already been anticipating from the first chapter, I, too, in the beginning, thought it was just a typical girl fighting manga with overused plots, but I was wrong. It's actually getting more interesting as story goes on. As far as I can recall from my old memory of similar type of mangas, the author has attempted new approach and quiet succeeded, or I should say, he went little bit deeper and more serious. But, we will see, as the story still continues.

A lot of tease shots in this one.

You'll come across a few "almost pantyshot" scenes in this. It adds to the tease factor. And I know I am not the only one who thinks that the artist had a strong liking of Rider (Fate/Stay Night) for them to draw her hair in that manner.

Its similar to XBlade. The first few chapters were pretty good. But that's it. The main character's a typical dude. You know what I'm talking about. He pisses me off so much I almost dropped this series.
