Ridiculous story but a fun one

This is by the same author as Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs and Seventh. I've read much of the former and very much liked the first 5 of the 6 light novels I read. (I had perhaps too high expectations of Seventh, but I've only read 11 ch of the manga so it's still in the set-up phase).

This series has some similarities with MobuSeka at times. It's basically lacking all of the seriousness and much of the depth, but ramps up the whackiness and comedy.

The characters are often shallow, but its for the sake of the humour. There are many tropes and coincidences, but again, it's for the humour.

I was personally hoping for more of a civilisation-building or political manoeuvring story, but that's not what this is.

Go in with the right expectations and you may have a fun time.

I'll probably check out the light novels, myself.

A Fun Read

So the art is nice and most of the characters are decent if a little bit under developed. Some are one-note.

That said, the setting and world building are good, the premise is interesting, and the writing is competent enough to avoid plot holes and anything particularly agregious.

I'd say give it a shot, but don't go in thinking this is a serious story. It lives up to the casual treatment of its plot that most isekai suffer from, though leaning into that aspect intentionally makes it much better in that aspect.

What can I say, has some interesting premises and an ok read but the constant time skips and pretty lack of progression character wise makes this a weird read aswell.

Annoyingly it's tropey nature of "Oh look as I do things as a villain but it's being percieved as good" is over used and simply snaps the suspension of disbelief. While it also has the MC being OP trope in the least it's not too overbearing on the overall plot kinda.

What I do find incredibly annoying is the whole setup and how it doesn't work. I'm fine with the manipulating demon that's ruining his life part, that's all fine and dandy. My issue is the ex-wife, she saddles him with all these debts and child support but then also schemes to get him fired from his job while boasting to her date that all her ex was good for was money.....

Obviously this is contradictory and makes no sense why she'd make him have no money to pay to her, also for no reason we get a update on the ex (I'm not sure why as timescale is totally different for the worlds) but really we don't have a timeframe to this (It maybe 2 years later) and also from what we've seen she seems to be a master level manipulator and plays 4d chess. What with her convo with the man she was cheating with we know she knows the MC wasn't the father and implies she knows who is, so why not just do a paternity test with that guy and get payments? (Yes I know he threatened to expose her but it's an idle threat since he's also involved and also having a paternal test would prove he's involved so yeah nah I don't buy her just giving up)

Also her comeupance is really not that bad in the scheme of things for someone who cheated, lied, manipulated, stole and cooerced everything from the MC and even eventually his life all we see is a window into some point in her life and she looks really tired and worn clothing. That's it really? I feel she got off pretty damn lightly all things considered the many illegal/immoral things she did cause as her daughter gets older will be able to help with money and she'll have free time again. So ultimately she could end up happy also it's pretty rough her daughter has to suffer as an aside.

This window into her "future" is in chapter 2, I'm not sure on it's purpose due to it not really feeling like she got her comeupance and all teh MC suffered. Normally I'd be all "I wanna see consequences" but here it's the worst of all worlds as we really don't see a full spectrum of the consequences and yet what we do see is really not enough for all she did (Reminder she wasn't controlled by the demon man into doing this she did it of her own volition). I feel like we'll never see her again either so yeah this window into the slight future of hers just feels like "we need to fill panels"
