Description
From Nakama:

Hane Hajime, who spends his life lazing around and being dependent on others, is twenty-two years old. One day, having lost his way, he wakes up in a blood-stained bed, with the lower half of his body in full view and his rear end stinging-not surprisingly because he’s serviced a pair of twins! The curtain rises on completely innocent Hane’s new lifestyle as it starts to head for trouble. While he’s taken aback by unique adults, he finds kindness... or perhaps it’s love.

this is definitely about love

although not the romanticized version of love many are familiar with in romance stories. My one gripe with a lot of romance stories is the over-romanticization of love. It sucks that when we're young, this is the only version of love we're exposed to and the only one we've come to expect from our relationships. Once you become an adult and been in difficult places, you take what you can get. I find nothing wrong with a story portraying this "dirty" type of love that depicts promiscuity, loneliness and solace in physical comfort.

I think that neither of the mains are fully in love with each other. And that's okay. They take comfort in knowing that each can give the other what they need in physical comfort and affection as adults. There is no lie and they are mostly on the same page. They make mistakes like humans. This was a rather light-hearted take on the vices of adulthood in this rather slapstick manga depicting some potentially dark themes such as sex without consent (let's be real, this was consistently what happened) and being okay with it, alcoholism and promiscuity. Perhaps the characters will mature more and be in it for the long haul in the future, but at this point in the story neither is in an emotionally well enough spot to establish that kind of relationship.

And as for the final chapter, after reading these comments I was expecting some sweeping and sweet confession from Ryouji concerning the president, but all I got was just a story of his first love. Where's the fire? First loves stay with you for life, they don't go away. You will always feel a certain type of way for that person, but it shouldn't affect your future romantic prospects. I only got the sense that Ryouji was reminiscing on that love and seeing how it got him to where he was in life. I don't think that he is still in love with the president, although I don't think he's in love with Hane in the end either.

A decent read!

Stupid last chapter

I love Aniya but the last chapter of this ruined the experience so be careful with that. Wish I would have read the warnings here in the comments before reading this. But up until the last chapter it's an average Aniya story. She has done lots better but I enjoyed it for what it was.

I'm disappointed, because of the last chapter. If it wasn't for it (that actually ruined the whole story for me) I would rate it higher. Funny, interesting and kinda romantic. All's good, and then
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the author decides to burn it all, by adding the final chapter, where it comes clear, that Ryou actually loved, and most definetely still loves the President... And the whole Hane-chan affair was to soothe his aching untill the Pres is back. Somehow he felt comfortable with Hane, so it seems he gave him a shot. As he said, he was always weak to stray dogs and cats, and he always ends up picking them home. Hane is one of the "strays" obviously. As for the attachment he developed for him...nah...it's ruined again by that last chapter. I was going to believe they found love for each other (Hane and Ryou), but I don't believe it anymore.

And the whole story became meaningless at this point.
So, an advice to all the future readers - DO NOT read the last chapter. A real plot destructor.

Okay Read

Good time waster here.
Typical pre-organised niche, with a quirky outlook on drunken sex.

The origin of the story was good. The pretext also good.
The execution turned out not so good.
The author just managed to make me believe that there was some 'love' that the two felt for each other, before BAM! the later chapters made me rethink it altogether.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Rather than love, I believe the two are experiencing an "I'm lonely" syndrome, where both amuse the other with a sense of love as to feed their thirst for lust. If its about love, neither truly strongly feels for the other, at least that was how I felt. In the end it seemed fickle love of convenience, rather than the heart. Especially with the fact that we are told that Doumu (President) and Ryouji had a sexual relationship with each other, and some deep bonds that never ran dry. I felt that their relationship resembled more of a lovers one (especially with the promise to come back, open business and come work for me, felt more true). This lead me to believe that Hane's and Ryouji's relationship is one of convenience, they both desperately wanted to know what love was, and so they conveniently fell in love with each other. But it doesn't seem like it'll last, so far both parties are happy. Hane has a home, Ryouji a fuck buddy, but for how long? Add into the midst a third strong conquering party and you have the making for a tragic fallout by the mains. I just don't see it lasting, and the more I look, the more their relationship is fickle.

Disappointing, as the story was progressing so well. So much that it would have been best not to show the later two chapters. I know this was maybe to deepen the characterisation of the others, but instead it just made me go "Uh huh, so that's how it really is..."

Also, I felt it would have been better if there were no gender roles, like the other work by this author. In fact I chose this story just because of how well ranked (and enjoyable) the other story was.

To each their own. I'd say, just go read it and form your own opinions.

Although the plot was actually quite interesting, but because of the art, I couldn't actually enjoy the manga. I'm not saying the art is bad, it's got this one unique style but I'm not used to sketchy and messy art. Especially the fluid. That's too...messy. Maybe some people like this type of art but, I guess it's not really cut out for me, since I choose manga according to the genre, clean cut and detailed art style and plot. :/

That aside, the plot is nice. Very interesting and funny! :>

Great Manga

You know, when I first read the summary I thought it had something to do with a man cutting his genitals off. But then again I always misread one word and put my own words in. But I was not disappointed! The characters are actually quite cute. Although there were a few times where I would stop and not fully grasp what it was I was suppose to be getting. Basically the first act is a jumble of feelings but it get better!

And it's really funny when you get a few of the references and jokes they emit. smile

I'm surprised to see that this manga has such an average rating since I found it extremly unique and enjoyable. The art style is quite original, though I can imagine it's not for everyone's taste. The story was great, too; I especially loved the twist with the twins.^^ The characters are all funny and have a nice touch of reality - also hetero main charas. Plus points for portraying drunk sex in a very exciting way.^^ (Ohh, boy, do I love it! biggrin)

I'll be sure to check Aniya's other manga as well because this manga definitely got me hooked. Recommended. ;3
