The mc is an average dense protagonist
The femc is the average "will not communicate to him my feelings properly" type of character
The only time when the mc does get a spine is around chapter 30, when they arrive at the pool, cause by then he starts to be physical with her, while being albeit a bit reserve, he does not have the average vigin troupe of not touching women as women skin is so erotic instead he just acts a little reserve and the manga does not write in excrutiating detail about how he has never felt a touch of a woman before.
Overall it is slowly getting better
