I remember dismissing this when it was translated 1.5 years ago on Webtoon. I just assumed from the synopsis and the first 7 chapters that it was your standard revenge porn. that, and I really don't like reading on the Webtoon app (phone screen is too small and scrolling on laptop is hard) which was the only way to read ch8+. But I saw you youtube shorts that's been adapted to a kdrama (early 2024) and so I decided to try it out again.

This series is genuinely quite good. It does its characters for the most part really well, for the story it's going for. A light-hearted revenge story that also geared towards trying to just be happy and grow a 'village' (i.e. close social circle) while still dipping appropriately dark when called for.

I especially want to point out one of the female friend characters who is just incredibly loveable, so every moment with her was very enjoyable to read. But for a cast of about 10 notable named characters, it's quite good that more than half of them are very likeable and make for good reading.

I do feel bad for one of the antagonists. I'd like to think she's Trauma and mental illness are tragic things, and how much of her current personality is on her is something to be debated. I did like that another antagonist is straight up an asshole, make sit easier on me to not feel bad. The other antagonists were done decently, too.

In the end this is a pretty light story, with moments of darkness, that often had me smiling and even laughing at times. I binged the entire thing in a day and I don't regret it.
The epilogues are also very, very satisfying. I do wish we got an update of a , though

This really engaged me and I enjoyed the revenge story and the romance equally. Doesn't overstay its welcome and wraps everything up satisfactorily. Does contain some things that bugged me, like the FL's makeover, but the story made up for it.

(The Afterward was a very interesting look into the process of creating a webtoon. Highly recommended.)

Seriously i liked the fl tho. The ml is bland - doesn't stick out. What made me hooked is the fl and the "best friend" 2nd fl - can be overreacting and dramatic but bearable imo. The storyline is the typical cliché office romance.

I find an upsetting issue with the spectacles. I have the least problem when the fl switched to contact lens, and somehow the glasses is no longer wearable even at home lol. But that's not the point, the ml suddenly not wearing glasses? Just because fl said he looked more handsome without it?! Bruhh he looked way hotter with it.

Damn i think that the author can't think of any other revenge plan for the boss lmfao but using the terrorism is quite overused. i don't have much issue with it.

But seriously i feel like at some point, korean authors should stop doing it all together if they are small-minded much to use it for their own benefit to make "arc plot", not just Islam, but also races (especially black people), and other religions basically.. a diverse world outside South Korea. It's not a good look this blatant racisms and islamophobic that they write in manhwas meant to be a wider reading scope internationally. (Just another "South Koreans seemed to never beat the prejudice allegations" moment.)

Put that aside, the story is interesting for the first few chapters, it was such a drag that you can actually skimmed through and definitely get a glimpse of its conclusion.

The villains are pretty caricatural but seeing them getting their retribution is very satisfying.

Main male lead is kinda generic if you're accustomed to read a lot of manhwa romance, innocent but big puppy like... I've definitely seen this archetype in other series before lol so it kinda gets old but makes for a lot of saccharine moments.

The author is not afraid of pulling off some punches. The assholes in this series are really nasty but believable (I've seen people like that IRL lol---and they are also the types that appear on the news, mind you).

In terms of plot and development it isn't the most original thing but it's really engrossing to read if you're into office drama and petty and also non petty nuclear revenges!

Also the 'islam' bit has as much importance as much as a passing remark, and has almost no relevance in terms of the plot whatsoever. See spoiler for more context

Well, damn. The plot and concept is solid enough, the characters too. But the execution? God damn, either this work had no editor at all, or this editor is BAD and should consider a job relating to sewage, they clearly have an affinity for it... Translation (unofficial) is also really bad, so that doesnt help...

oh please, you used a single plot point, disregarded the rest of the story just to give it a 1. let me tell you something that would blow your mind. It hard to integrate islam to majority of asian stories cause it is mostly haram to them. Also the terrorism being islamist does not diminish my view on the muslim one biit. I would not care less if the terrorist where christians, jews, or whatever. the fact that you focused on that alone makes your review BS. . grow up. .

So all is good, nice drama stuff. Not new subject but well put. Drawing is nice too.
But around 40 is just.. nothing. dragging but nothing to drag on?
Side stories meh.. Only likable chapter is the story of Bo (the cat).

Strong premise/hook, but it gets sillier over time because all of the characters are so completely one dimensional. Highly dramatic and very tropey.
