Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment. Exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!

promising stuff

really enjoying this so far. it’s looking like a keeper.

what i like:

excellent art. dynamic and powerful, with incredible “page” sense. the mangaka worked as an assistant on soul eater and you can tell. the art is characterful, weighty, and confident. action choreography is amazing.
great character design. everyone is distinct and visually full of story too! there are some common tropes but done well, and characters fit nicely together. my favourite character is zanka, and i love every scene with august.
simple, straightforward power system. objects turn into weapons if you love them enough.
promising world-building so far. i like the construction of the canvas city in particular, and some of the no-go zones have been fun.
dynamic between the cleaners is very sweet. lots of character growth and complexity here, but deftly handled.
really funny translation. the jokes work well.
badguy reveal happening fairly early on… more on that in the spoiler box.
turns this from a hunt the shadow story to one of dreadful, impending betrayal. i think it’s also very kind to the reader as well, in not leaving us or our interest in the characters lurching.

what i’m hoping for:

time for some of the younger characters to build relationships that aren’t about rudo. i think amo and riyo could have something great developing, and i really want to see fu/hii interact with zanka
august and eishia arc. please please please.
some more focus on rudo’s time in the sky. he’s a character who lives in the present, but he’s still been very shaped by his past, and i would like to return to his thoughts on that. the amo arc was excellent for this reason, and the follo arc some 50 chapters later — i love the spacing on how it’s been handled, and i have no reason to doubt that we’re not going to see everything explode <3

one of my favourite things about this manga is the unique artstyle, cant get enough of it. the characters are all interesting, including one of the villains especially, im excited to learn more backstories. i love the concept of the vital weapons/jinkis and the personalisation of them. the fights are well done too. a very interesting manga thats become one of my favourites so far.

also the tags for this are so weird, the story does hint at a backstory that involves grooming etc, but its definitely not part of the main plot and pretty insignificant, so yeah just a heads up on that.

btw there are two scanlations, one by A pair of 2+ and another by im not sure who but they uploaded to manga4life, and i recommend reading the latter scanlation, as the dialogues make a lot more sense and, at several points, the A pair of 2+ scanlations drop in quality (in terms of both the editing and translations).

If someone can, please revise the category of this manga. Someone, intentionally or not, filling it wrong. Very... wrong.

As for the review for this comic, well, I enjoy it. The artstyle is kinda rough for me at first. But after awhile I alrdy get used to it and the storytelling is pretty interesting. I'll continue to read it ^^.

Very Interesting ch1-39

It is indeed interesting but I just have to say the quality has dropped somewhat over time. When it start maybe the first 12 chapters I'd have given it a 9/10 but with such an interesting concept its being wasted with (for once) too many plot threads that are slated for later building up.

I also feel like alot of preseries life the MC lived is forgotten too much during the series. In the arc I'm currently reading it seems to only have just remembered he was from somewhere else and should be expounded upon what he feels about everything so far to be non-spoilery as possible. Characterisation and Lore still top notch but storytelling itself is a massive mixed bag ranging itself from 1 to 6/10 which is poo.

Whoever voted this a 1 is the definition of a hater, you can dislike it but 1/10 is completely unrealistic, realistically I can understand a 7 since it's still new. Personally I think it's a solid 9 with amazing art work, characters are really interesting, power system is dope and the concept of the world and story telling and the contrast to real life is really, really good. loving it so far!

This series has shown more character (as in, personality/uniqueness) in 4 chapters, than other beloved shounen 'classics' in their entire run... I will be looking for more!
