Creepy and Boring

What do we have here? Yet another romanticism of domestic violence masquerading as a tsundere love story? I'm not surprised, though. Like another reviewer said, that kind of thing plagues the BL genre. Just out of curiosity, how much more objection would this have had if the uke had been a woman? Well, probably not much more since this IS smut manga, after all, but I'm sure there would have been a bigger outcry.

Anyway, I'm not one who is easily disturbed by graphic depictions of rape and sexual violence, so mature content-wise, this manga didn't faze me. What turned me off the most is that the story played out just as I imagined it would. Observe:

uke crushes on seme - > seme uses uke for sex - > uke is miserable but keeps going back to seme - > uke finally decides that enough is enough and leaves - > time skip - > uke and seme meet up again - > seme reveals he has some Freudian excuse for his behavior and claims to love uke - > uke and seme shallowly reconcile and get together - > uke and seme live happily ever after

If you're expecting anything different from the above formula, then stop reading this review right now and skip this manga because you will be sorely disappointed. For anyone else who's into the shallow rape-rape-love stories, then you might like this one. It's still pretty boring, though, and the sex isn't even that good. The characters are flat, and the uke’s repetitive doki-doki monologues drip like molasses – slow and nauseatingly sweet. Not one of the characters acts like a real person would.

I’ll give it a 2 because the art is better than most yaoi art.

yamakami riyu has a serious problem with presenting violence as a passionate expression of love. BL in general has this problem, but in her case it goes so far as to completely lose any shred of believability. there is nothing good about kaiya; he is an abusive bully, and no, he's not redeeming himself at the end. she simply does not manage to make me care about this relationship, because there is nothing here but that kei thinks kaiya is "so cool" because he is a pretty, arrogant model. i came away from this with a really bad taste in my mouth.

Go read other Yamakami's works

Although I usually appreciate Yamakami's work, this manga goes too far when it comes to abuse and violence. Kaiya is not the kind of character you can get to like and therefore it makes it difficult to understand why Kei does like him. Since none of the 2 main characters are actually likeable, I'll pass this story, and reread other much better works by Yamakami.

I absolutely loved it. I dont know why but i have always grown up to find that in violence there tends to be more love as though feelings become so pent up they come out angry so i really understood Kaiyas charecter. And well done Kei for getting with him then leaving him then going back ^^ yay

Sure the plot was pretty fucked up but I like that sort of stuff, so it didn't bother me. The sex could of been hotter though. The arts alright, not bad but not amazing either. I'd say its up to personal taste...to like or hate this story.

Absolute shite. I'm sorry, but you can never get me to believe that jealous, controlling, uncaring violence, and rape = love. Really takes the whole "he raped me, so I'm gonna fall in love with him" cliche to new heights. I mean, if Kei has so little respect for himself, why should we, the readers, care?

i thought the beginning development was a little dry...but in the end the story won me over (for the most part). it was sweet and cute. now on a basic scale though, i don't think it would make it very far since it does lack a lot of development and characterization... (and i mean a lot)
but since i personally like the overall tone and the happy ending i'm not gonna read too far into it all and just leave it as it is. wink

For me, the ending kind've saved this one. I still don't think it's very good, but it's also not the worst.
I personally am not a fan of abusive relationships, which is different from just being possesive. In this case the relationship is sadly both. The art is average.
I would if you've started this finish it, otherwise leave it alone.

I love a lot of mangas written by this mangaka. I love the artwork, the plots, the characters and even the pacing.

But I didn't really like this one. Maybe it's because everything just happened too fast, and the abuse just didn't feel justified in the end. (You know by trauma, or some dark past). Also, his love for Kei was pretty sudden. I wouldn't really call this schoollife either. Maybe another chapter or two could have resulted in a more satisfying manga. But it's strange because I even like a lot of the one shots written by this sensei, and even those are so short.

Meh, doesn't matter. It would be foolish for me to expect to like 100% of a mangaka's work. Still- I love Yamakami sensei ^_^

the story maybe worth reading , however, the relationship between Kaiya ( the seme) and tateyama ( the uke) is not as good and yummy as i thought it'd be. the way kaiya treated tateyama is kind of
half-hearted. and also the seme ( kaiya) is kind of weak to fall just because Tateyama disappearance. and the way both character express their feelings to each other seems like.. not in a proper way or full- hearted
