Started very well

I liked first 5 volumes but later it became a mess. Mangaka used such cliche plots that it became boring and I stopped caring for them. Sachie was so irritating, the characters personalities weren't constant. I only like Azuma but the author seems to forget about his existence when it's convenient.

Dedicated bodyguard-type male lead? Sign me up

Rakuto is the hero character type that I wish I could read about more often these days - he's kind, considerate and absolutely devoted to Sachie's happiness and general well-being. Add to that the fact that he's a type of caretaker/bodyguard to her, it ticks all the master-servant trope boxes too. Sachie, for her part, is thankfully emotionally tough, more given to taking charge of a depressing situation than sitting around waiting.

It tickled me pink when Rakuto pulled the usual shoujo "will you wait for me" speech and she turned it around, saying she'd rather work to catch up with him so would he mind doing the waiting instead?
Of course, she's also pretty dense as with most shoujo heroines, but I'd prefer denseness to the type who's constantly overcome with jealousy over her princely love interest.

The series was excellent as a bit of cutesy, frothy fun for about 8 volumes, but I do think it should've stopped at that point rather than dragging out Rakuto's cannot-spit-it-out problem and Sachie's denseness for another two volumes. It's the sort of trope that creates a lot of cute moments for a while, but gets tiresome when overdone, and I would've rated this higher had it not overstayed its welcome.

Would be better if it was shorter maybe.

It was a cute little story.. But I fealt it went on for a bit too long.. I ended up skipping through some of the parts because they were mostly extras. Maybe a bit to cute for me as well.. Wasn't very "yakuza" like either.

started out fun and interesting. As well as sad because of her mothers passing.. There was a quick set up with a boy that loved her.. But went on forever with out her noticing his feelings.. Got boring in the middle.. And most of the story was repeated over in conversations.. And finally ended good as always. I also wished there was a back story on her father?? Who is he??

Disappointing ending

Reading this is just like going for a treasure hunt to find that there is no treasure to begin with. There is nothing accomplished at the end at all. There was nothing said about their love ending or family business or even their futures. The main lead just graduated from high school that all. It feels as if the author was tired of the story and just trying to end it ASAP. Though each character has there own background story, but the author didn't explain in details either. Feels like a summary instead.

At least show that the main couple is married and living together happily in the end or something in an extra. And what will happen to the clan in the end? Big disappointment. Not recommended, only read this when you're super bored.

Felt sorta half-hearted to me

I came across Gold Rush 21 not so long ago and was amazed by it, so I thought I should check out the author's other works too. But honestly, this did not impress me. It was cute and innocent and all, but at the same time too naive and neither emotion- nor thought-provoking. I wish that there were more characters' growth and interactions, because really, I felt like I knew close to nothing about them even after ten freaking volumes. Honestly, I didn't like it, but it was not unlikable. Just not my thing, I guess.

Typical

I found the plot interesting so I read it. The art is so-so, typical shoujo-ness and it doesn't really stand out. The plot's quite interesting but somehow the story flow is slow paced. Nothing life changing for the characters happen but more like they're the ones who "change" people. Halfway through it's as if Azuma and the mangaka forgot about the existence of the postcard. I know bringing it up quite often without any results or change of the characters' view would get annoying but heck, the characters didn't really change probably aside from Rakuto's view about their master-servant type relationship.

To be continued and edited...

Shoujo manga with a master-servant relationship between the stereotypical shoujo heroine and the cool princely love interest. Toss in a dash of yakuza. Same old shoujo tropes. Very cutesy. Nothing horrendous. Bound to get repetitive after a couple chapters, but if you're in the mood for shoujo, this is a solid pick.

A Cute Story

Cute story between a body guard and the granddaughter of a yakuza boss. Art is okay. Feel like it could be a little more romantic, yet it's still good. Both main characters are like able, with Rakuto always helping Sachie when she does something bold that doesn't always end well. smile

Waste of your time and it's potential

Nothing happens for 9 of the 10 volumes despite the relatively large amount of time that is supposed to have passed over the course of the series. There was potential there but there just isn't any development which makes the typical shoujo cliches more annoying than they usually are.

I picked it up because I wanted a light, enjoyable read but I ended up hating nearly every second I spent on the series after about the 10th chapter. By then, though, I was committed and decided to finish it anyway.

There is little to no character development, everyone is just the same as they are in the beginning even though a very long time passes. Relationships are very forced to the point of being painful. The content of 10 volumes could be condensed into 1 without even being rushed, which makes about 9 of those volumes filler fluff. The art's okay at the very best but what made me begin to dislike it is the deadness in their eyes. They're so lifeless. Then the characters are far too perfect, like their flaws are superficial and subject to change at any time. Perfect characters are hated characters. People have flaws, often very deep flaws that cause others to hate them, so I believe characters should display these traits as well.

The story was average, slightly worse than average actually. Most shoujo like this at least have some development. The pacing was very slow, though I don't mind as much of life plods along as well.

Anyway, I believe the mangaka could have done much better with the premise, which is why I'm giving this series such a low rating. Originality is an absolute must when dealing with such a cliched plot. I look forward to better series from this author, though my expectations aren't very high after reading this.
