Prettiness and Wide-Eyed Eagerness

A light-hearted and sweet story, this 2-volume collection of stories has a cute feel to the whole thing and is a sugary frosted cake that tastes slightly different from all other BL stories on the market. BUT she has much better ethereal stories that are at once haunting and breathtaking with their magic. She excels much more at her serious short poem-like stories, than her light ones.
The team of four at the school of magic are so easy and comfortable with one another, their teasing and love and 'community' is infectious. They felt like a family who would die to protect one another. It was fun to be invited in to their adventures.
Harlem was the cutest, most innocent little familiar I could ever imagine. I think this collection of stories by Hoshino-sensei may be more 'accpetable' to a larger portion of society simply because her young uke this time was a mythical incubus demon. Removing from reality takes away some people's discomfort with the youthful appearance of her uke. (He IS 17, after all, but he looks about 10.) Her stories are so full of tenderness and everyday affection and laughter, that I never feel that anyone is being abused against their will.
I never really felt deeply connected with one half of the main couple: Yuno. The personality of Yuno was a stiff and cardboard-like. I never really felt for him. He seemed so distant all the time.
The art was Hoshino-sensei wonderful again: very fantastical, but masterful in her very unique way.
The scanlation was lovely, with only a few awful word splits that marred a few pages.

It was soooooo cute and fluffy! I loved the whole magic part of it. It's so unique and refreshing. This manga has a great reread value. It's a light and fun read, and the two characters aren't annoying at all! The art is pretty and fits the fantasy theme really well.
very cute

This series is simple, light, and cute. Harlem is adorable running around trying to please Yuno, while Yuno's mix of irritation and concern for his familiar is quite sweet. No angst or sub-plots here, just a little fantasy-romance. I really enjoyed it.

The plot is very nice and I'd a lot of fun reading... is mora shounen ai than yaoi though but that has it's own points. Could be more developted, it's really good and has potencial to be a long series...
Haven't had this much fun in a while

Heh! Apart from a few select titles, I haven't had this much fun reading a series in a long time. It's cute and packed with a dose of humor, drama and light action. The art is awesome and the magic duels are really kinda fun. But really, it's rather fluffy though.

Here was one where i really was not expecting anything at all, but boy was it good. I have read stuff from the mangaka before so i was familiar with the art and like it even though it's not typical. The story was what capture me the most because it was not overly gushy, just nice and cute. I thought the magic part was going to be a letdown but it was fun.

I guess this manga wasn't as good for me as it was for everyone else. ^_^;; I mean, yeah, it was cute, but it might as well have been shoujo. There were lots of girls as main characters and only one yaoi couple. And really, Harlem wasn't far from being a girl. ESPECIALLY in his human form. I mean, the first time I saw it, I thought he had really changed his gender. And the crying... I don't know if you could have a scene without Harlem crying. Some good things about the manga? The fight with the familiar group had a realistic ending for the characters involved, even if it might have been disappointing for some (unless you're like me and don't like weak characters becoming super strong out of nowhere). And the first time Yuno and Harlem had sex was really cute because it was so awkward, and there had been time to build the relationship beforehand. I also liked Yuno's character and the extra story at the end of the second volume. So it was an ok read, but, for me, nothing special- sorry for all those who loved it. ><;;;
