I agree with what everyone said so far, this is a great yaoi, so READ IT!!

just one thing tho, i really think that they should change the image on [mangaupdates] from the 1st vol cover to maybe 9th, 10th, or 11th vol cover... PLEASE!!

As somebody has already said - don't be mislead by the cover and first volume and not so attractive art. IMO - the essence story and really good art starts with volume 2 when you meet the core characters and the plot began to flow.

I usually avoid series with more than 3 volumes, simply I loose my interest in them - it's like as far as I knew that 'since now, they are happy together forever and ever, and so..' I'm loosing my interest to read further.. But that one - it's was such an exception..! I've read all 11 volumes + extra in one weekend's evenings. NO REGRETS! So amazing stories..

Only one regret - that I've lost several months coming to this manga and again postponing reading it being discouraged by the cover, lenght and the art of few first pages.. Don't be as 'baka' as I was.. Just don't waste any more time - just read it..

I put off reading this a few times when I was just starting to read yaoi... the first volumes cover art to me looked really unappealing but after reading many gleaming comments like the one Im about to write I gave it ago and by George im glad I did! Love mode is full of compelling characters that you really fall in love with (pun intended) and revisit again and again, it doesn't just just end with they got together and lived happily ever after, they feel like real relationships with all the romance, lost loves, breakups and reconciliations. Love mode has a very well thought out interlinked plot that keeps you reading like an addicted. I do put out a warning for anyone who doesn't like rape or violence, love mode is filled with depressing past histories like that but generally it has an optimistic message that when you met the right person your life can change for the better. Concerning the art its gets better and better as the story matures (obviously this was one of her first manga's). It started off as a 7 and ended on a consistent 10... do read it

One of the things I most liked is that the mangaka almost didn't let any story without continuation. It was all tied up beautifully. I had a great time reading 11 volumes in only some hours.

This was my first Yaoi manga, and luckily so, because it was awesome enough to completely convert me into a Yaoi fan forever. I have lots of great things to say about this series, but I'm sure everyone before me has already said it, so I'll just say this: READ IT!!! You'll miss out if you don't give it a chance because the story is just that beautiful!

The 1st chapter might not leave a strong impression, and the art might not be to everyone's taste, but oh, the plot, the characters, the relationship developments and the angst! It's all so good that I really don't see how anyone can pass this masterpiece up!

Don't let the cheesy cover art fool you - this is a yaoi classic...

I seriously put off reading this manga for months because I literally couldn't stand the cover w/the kid w/the bowl cut and the pervy looking guy putting his hands on the bowl kids head. I don't know what made me finally read it, but once I started I couldn't stop.

This is a true yaoi classic. I've read a ton of yaoi, and this is the one that I compare them all to.

I can understand that most people probably would say that Junjou Romantica is their absolute favorite, and I do really enjoy that manga, but I don't think that it hits all of the different emotions that this particular manga does. Because there are several couples, each plot line takes you on a different ride, but each couple is somehow linked so you get to know the characters better w/each chapter.

Regarding the art - it does suck in the beginning, but this is a long running manga so by the time you're halfway through, there is a visible difference in the drawing style, and it is very good by the ending. But the story was so wonderful that after starting it I was more interested in wanting to know what was going to happen so that I didn't really notice the mediocre art - it was just a bonus that it did get way better. (As a side note - Junjou Romantica's angular, almost rough draft drawn characters - especially the uke's round, monkey like eyes - never change... even in the way later chapters.)

It will only take maybe 1/2 hour of your day to read the first few chapters, and if you don't like it drop it - just don't judge this particular book by it's cover.

Okay - I've written a novel on this, but I truly don't understand how this manga can get bad reviews, so I have to put in my 2 cents (or more like $2) worth. Everyone has their own opinion, but there is a reason that 58% of it's readers (at least at the time I'm writing this review) have given this manga a 10 star rating - it's because it totally deserves it.

I wouldn't write much (b/c i'm too lazy to type)
but all I can say is that all the hype everyone is talking about is true.
ILoveMode is my first Yaoi manga. I read it like 7 years ago. I repeat reading it for more than 10 times and every time it just makes me feel happy and I keep thinking about it lol. Shimizu sensei created such a good storyline and all the characters, the relationships, they're all great. Even short stories between each volume never bored me.
*Remember* Don't let the art keep you. The art is getting better and better each volume

As one who consume Yaoi a lot
I would say tht for all Yaoi reader, You will be miss out if you don't read LoveMode! :]
