i recently pick up the manga again it really not that bad Mei's character is really not all wimpy like other shoujo females and her relationship with Yamato is really cute and simple.
@LUEser Omg Mei is not plain looking! i think she is gorgeous and i like that it tells stories of other characters makes me understand their viewpoint of things and like them more.

One of the more realistic takes on how a person falls for another and what's behind the playboy attitude. The smut was necessary for this story to really convey the message. I like the heroine's personality. But most of all, I like how the characters are fleshed out so that you can understand the reasons behind their actions. Plus, the male protagonist is a hot bishie.

There were a lot of things I didn't like about this manga; First, they could've made Mei look more prettier... The plain looks that she has was a turn-off... And also, as the manga goes on, it didn't focus on Mei and Yamato anymore... It went from them to Yamato's friends. Come on, Mei and Yamato are the MAIN characters, not his friends.

I'm not a big fan of smut or mature content, I honestly hate it because it ruins the stories so I never read smut. But this, is actually good. It has smut, but it doesn't have the annoying kind of smut like where the guy just tries to always have sex with the girl and she's all weak, naive and tries to fight him off but always gives in and shit.

And the characters, i love them. The girl is just so awesome. Her attitude and character and everything. It's different and refreshing and I like how she's strong-willed but also weak. I also like the guy too, He's nice and sweet in his own way but he has his bad sides as well. The story is cute and I like how their relationship develops along the way. Just a great story. biggrinD Art is nice too. I took a look at this author's other works, and wow, all smut and I'll say, this is the best one. biggrin

This is kind of like chocolate cake. So delicious, and yet so bad for you. Yes, it's cliched. Yes, it's unrealistic. A popular guy would never look or care a fig about me--and this is true for a lot of my friends. So yeah, this kind of shoujo is "evil" in that aspect, because it inspires this sort of useless hope that doesn't really get you anywhere in life, except depressed when you're not reading manga. Which yeah, doesn't really get you anywhere in life.
But it's still so fun to read. This manga, for example, makes me feel happy because their relationship develops *sooo* nicely. Every chapter has so far given me this fuzzy happy feeling, because he notices her and likes her and she starts liking him too and they're both really interesting characters and he's sooo hot.
It isn't even really smutty, which is such a relief. And dude, while the start of their relationship is cliched, the relationship itself and the buildup of their feelings isn't. Ditto a lot of things that people are saying about her not being a pushover and the male lead having vulnerabilities. It helps keep the story afloat and interesting, because we learn more about the characters with each chapter, and they're not very typical characters. Plus, they're inspiring.
I guess it's fun as long as you don't take it too seriously. In my opinion, it's better than a lot of other stuff that's out there, despite its flaws.

I like this series. I love how the lead female has a distinct personality and isn't annoying like most shoujo manga. I also love how the male lead isnt perfect, it's nice to have a realistic(ish) story. smile

SO CUTE!

This shoujo is extremely realistically cute. I mean, there are a lot of cute shoujos out there, but this one is cute in a different way in that the main girl is so honest and blunt, not wanting friends because she's hurt from past memories but being completely logical about it, which most heroines in shoujo are totally not, keeping his cell phone number when given but still stubborn in not wanting to call him and i love her swimsuit, it totally matches her personality. i don't think it's unrealistic at all; i remember this one girl in middle girl who didn't speak at all really, i remember her saying like two words and she was constantly teased, it's like there was this contest to see who could make her speak the longest sentence or get the most reaction from her face. actually, thinking about it, it was fun to watch her expressions.

it's really cute and i love the main guy because you know who he was before, he wasn't always hot and popular, he was short and a total loser who couldn't stand up for his best friend; he's not perfect and it makes him more endearing and human, unlike most heroes who most mangakas try to make "perfect". and what's even more endearing about the main hero is that he's interested in the main girl because she's blunt. the simple fact that he's interested in her because of this quality makes me realize that he enjoys honesty, values and admires this quality because he knows how much people lie to others and to themselves, including himself. he admires this characteristic because he knows he doesn't have it completely, but he wants it so much; he undervalues himself and this reveals a vulnerable trait that not a lot of other heroes have. he's vulnerable but he hides it well, unlike the main girl, who we know is vulnerable and sensitive and is open about it. he's a character that's deeper than most heroes that are just too "cool" that always keep their cool image or try to.

definitely an awesome and cute read! 10/10

Actually i could barely finish the first chapter. The situations are extremely unrealistic. Its highly unlikely that a girl looking like her would be bullied like that, and its highly unlikely for anyone to be bullied in that way (especially a girl). More than half the kids her age havent had a boyfriend or their first kiss yet, why do they make it sound so appalling? On top of that, its extremely unoriginal (i dont knw a shoujo that doesnt have that lowly girl-dream guy match up). The only positive point is the art, which is ok.

Overall, stuff like this is the reason that I dont read shoujo manga, they make the real-life things ubnelievably inaccurate and unrealistic. And this is all without saying its extremely boring (too me of course- im biased in the sense that all i usually read is shounen, seinen, action, psychological, etc; but i do like to try all different types of manga-which is why i read this)

This series (so far) is great!! With just a few chapters, it hasn’t failed to impress me. People here say that the plot is cliché.. And it truly is! But the funny thing is, I never realized it—and I am a person who has already read a lot of shoujos!! The mangaka is commendable for bringing a series that has an overly-used plot seem new! She was able to capture a cliché relationship (boy is popular and handsome & girl is the quiet type who thinks no one would fall for her) in a totally different light! the gloomy personality of the girl adds greatly to that charm!

i hope scanlations releases catch up fast!
=D
