A MUST READ!

For those that question about the shounen-ai level, it's pretty low in my opinion. From what I have read, it's mostly the characters feeling for each other plus one or two minor scene that might suggest something of shounen-ai. Other than that, it really focuses on the story. The art work is AMAZING! I mean, just look at the cover! It's GORGEOUS! KISARAGI Hirotaka is one of the best artist in the yaoi/shounen-ai world. So for those that have doubts, please give this one a try. You will not be disappointed by it.

I absolutely loved the artwork in this one. The story was good too. Hagi is my favorite Blood + character. It's great to see a story about something he does while waiting for Saya. I really like Nishi as well. The characters worked together well. The story was well put together. It wasn't complicated, and was pretty straight forward. A great addition to Blood +. Not sure why some seem to think it is shonen-ai. Not by a long shot....... I highly recommend this one. This one has the best art of all the Blood + manga.

I guess when I read the title and the summary, I didn't realize that this is a prequel of Blood+.
Blood+ is one of my favorite anime of all time! So, I was pleasantly surprised that this is a prequel.
Is it shonen-ai? I don't really know. I guess you can extrapolate and say that it IS a shonen-ai, but there's no clear indication of man-man love at all.
I like it. A bit disappointed because I wanted it to be longer, but I guess the plot must match Blood+'s plot. ... Oh well.

Seriously... This really isn't Shounen Ai

I don't see why this was given the Shounen Ai genre or even given the Slash category. Seriously there is absolutely no man-man love going on. It's not even remotely implied. Sure Hagi crashes at the human guy's place for a bit, but it's obvious that he's pining away for Saya... who doesn't show up.

It's a nice manga in that it does show that Hagi does actually do things while he waits for her, but it's very unfortunate genre and category placement is probably resulting in a lot more negative votes [in terms of the numerical scores] than it deserves. I can easily imagine BL/Yaoi fans reading this and not being happy about the lack of pairings. Likewise fans of Blood+ might be turned off from reading it because they think there is a pairing going on here that really isn't.

[edit -- fixed a typo]

Can someone who's read this please tell me what the heck Haji is doing starring in a shounen-ai manga? I mean hasn't a constant part of his characterisation up until now been a devotion to Saya? I don't mind if it's spoilery, but I would like an answer to this question, the existence of this manga confuses me @_@

Quote from "Friera"
Is this official? I mean, I never thought there was a shounen-ai prequel of +Blood...

Yeah, there are three Blood+ mangas: This one, Blood+ by Katsura Asuka that is the official adaptation of the TV series (Serialized in a Shonen magazine) and Blood+ Adagio -another prequel- by Suekane Kumiko (In a magazine that oddly serialize both shoujo and shounen). All the mangas are published by Kadokawa Shoten and it seems that they wanted to reach all the audience possible since they decided to make one shounen version of Blood+ for boys, another shounen-ai for girls and the last (I think) for both sexes.

Being a fan of the Blood+ franchise I really want to read all its manga, but I have a problem with this one since this is a genre that I really don't like. For that I must ask:
Is the shonen-ai level of this manga high? and...Is this manga important story-wise? (I suppose that this manga is the least important of the three, since it only spawned one volume)
Please, answer frankly...
