I Enjoyed It...

I'm not a fan of a lot of Setona Mizushiro's older works (the art is just sooooo rough, I often can't get past it), but this one is cute and likable. It's not as deep or thought-provoking as most of her other works. The story is very one-dimensional and rather silly - but it's entertaining and sweet. Lightweight shoujo never hurt anybody... and this is a good lightweight shoujo.

"Valentine Cinema" is... Eh. It's not the best. It's more of the usual drama you find in a Mizushiro manga... but in this one-shot format, it just doesn't deliver the depth that the scenario needs. It ends up feeling unfinished and a bit flat.

"The Queen's Favorite" is weird. Just plain weird. It's got servants as slaves, BDSM, bondage, fetish clothes, other weirdness... all presented as if it's just totally normal stuff. Now, I'm actually quite fond of these subjects... but they just come off as surreal and silly here. I suppose it's worth reading for its uniqueness, but... Well... I just don't really know what else to say about this one.

Wow. I'm so surprised this is actually from Mizushiro Setona. This must be one of her earlier works, before she became a great mangaka. This manga is surprisingly stupid and annoying. Not worth the read.
